Irregular menstruation
On April 30, I used Ru486 and also went to the hospital for a check-up, where I experienced a miscarriage.
My first menstrual period came on July 9 and lasted until July 17.
Since then, my periods have not returned.
Sometimes I stay up late, and other times I go to bed early.
However, in recent days, I have felt something moving in my lower left abdomen, and there is also pain when I apply pressure.
I have taken a pregnancy test, which showed two lines, but I do not have any symptoms of pregnancy.

Irregular menstruation can be a complex issue, particularly when combined with the use of medications like RU486, which is often used for medical abortion. Understanding the relationship between menstrual irregularities, pregnancy tests, and associated symptoms is crucial for proper diagnosis and management.
Firstly, it’s important to note that RU486 can lead to significant changes in your menstrual cycle. After a medical abortion, it is common for the menstrual cycle to take some time to regulate. The first menstrual period after using RU486 may not be a reliable indicator of your typical cycle, and subsequent cycles can be irregular for several months. This can lead to confusion when trying to interpret symptoms and pregnancy test results.
In your case, you mentioned that you experienced your first period from July 9 to July 17, but since then, your menstrual cycle has been irregular. The sensation of something moving in your lower abdomen, along with pain upon pressure, can be concerning. These symptoms could be related to various factors, including residual effects from the RU486, ovarian activity, or even the development of ovarian cysts, which can sometimes occur after hormonal changes.
Regarding the pregnancy test results, a positive result (two lines) typically indicates the presence of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced during pregnancy. However, there are instances where a false positive can occur, particularly if there are remnants of pregnancy tissue or if the test is taken too early after a pregnancy loss. It’s also worth noting that some medical conditions, such as certain tumors or hormonal imbalances, can lead to elevated hCG levels without a viable pregnancy.
If you are not experiencing typical pregnancy symptoms, such as nausea, breast tenderness, or fatigue, it may suggest that you are not pregnant, but this is not definitive. The absence of these symptoms does not rule out the possibility of pregnancy, especially in the early stages.
Given your situation, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation. They may recommend a quantitative blood test for hCG, which can provide a more accurate measurement than a home pregnancy test. Additionally, an ultrasound may be necessary to assess the condition of your uterus and ovaries, especially if you are experiencing pain.
In summary, irregular menstruation following the use of RU486 can lead to confusion regarding symptoms and pregnancy tests. It is essential to seek medical advice to clarify your situation, rule out any complications, and receive appropriate care. Your health and well-being are paramount, and a healthcare professional can provide the necessary guidance and support.
