Elevated body temperature?

I have been experiencing bloating, occasional loss of appetite, lower abdominal pain, and a tendency for my body temperature to be elevated, especially when lying down.
I also have arrhythmia and have been in contact with two individuals who have overlapping exposure to confirmed cases.
These symptoms were present before the exposure.
Could the doctor please explain what might be wrong with my body?

Hello, J1080349: If the ear temperature is below 38°C, it is not considered a true fever.
If there are no other severe symptoms, you can continue to monitor the situation.
If you have been in contact with two individuals who have overlapping exposure with a confirmed case, you can feel reassured as long as those two individuals do not test positive.
However, it is still important to maintain good personal protective measures.
Regarding the lower abdominal pain, if it persists, it is advisable to visit a clinic for a check-up to clarify any underlying health issues.
Thank you for your inquiry, and I wish you good health.

Elevated body temperature, or hyperthermia, can be a complex symptom with various underlying causes. Given your symptoms of bloating, occasional loss of appetite, lower abdominal pain, and a feeling of elevated body temperature, it is essential to consider several potential factors that could be contributing to your condition.

Firstly, the sensation of increased body temperature can sometimes be a subjective experience rather than an actual increase in core body temperature. This phenomenon can occur due to anxiety, stress, or even hormonal fluctuations. For instance, during times of anxiety, the body may react with increased heart rate and perspiration, leading to a feeling of warmth or heat. Additionally, hormonal changes, particularly in women, can cause fluctuations in body temperature, especially during the menstrual cycle.

Your mention of bloating and abdominal pain could suggest gastrointestinal issues. Conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastritis, or even food intolerances can lead to discomfort and changes in appetite. Bloating often accompanies digestive disturbances, and if you are experiencing these symptoms consistently, it may be worthwhile to evaluate your diet and any potential triggers.

The heart palpitations you mentioned could be related to several factors, including anxiety, dehydration, or even electrolyte imbalances. If you are feeling anxious about your health, this could exacerbate the sensation of palpitations. It’s also important to consider that elevated body temperature can sometimes be a response to infection or inflammation. Given your recent exposure to individuals with confirmed infections, it is prudent to monitor for additional symptoms such as fever, chills, or respiratory issues, which could indicate a viral or bacterial infection.

In terms of your symptoms, the combination of gastrointestinal discomfort, changes in appetite, and heart rhythm irregularities could suggest a systemic issue that warrants further investigation. Conditions such as thyroid disorders (hyperthyroidism, for example) can lead to increased metabolism, resulting in elevated body temperature, weight loss, and changes in heart rate.
Moreover, if you are experiencing persistent symptoms, it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend blood tests to check for infections, thyroid function, and other potential causes of your symptoms. Imaging studies may also be necessary to rule out any structural issues in the abdomen.

In summary, while your symptoms could be attributed to anxiety, gastrointestinal issues, or even an underlying infection, it is essential to seek medical advice for a comprehensive assessment. Early intervention can help identify the root cause of your symptoms and guide appropriate treatment, ensuring your health and well-being are prioritized.
