Upon waking up in the morning, I experienced pain in my left forearm, upper arm, and armpit?
On Tuesday, I woke up to find that I had pain on the outer lower side of my left upper arm.
The pain is triggered by lightly touching the surface of the skin, but I did not engage in any vigorous activities the day before, and there are no visible injuries on my arm.
Later, I also noticed pain in my armpit and the inner side of my forearm.
The armpit feels normal with no lumps or visible abnormalities, while the inner forearm has a similar sensitivity to light touch as the upper arm.
The sensation feels somewhat like the soreness experienced after a muscle strain, where touching the skin surface causes discomfort.
I would like to consult a physician about what this condition might be.
I woke up on Wednesday, and the pain has not diminished.
Thank you for your assistance in clarifying this issue.

More Info
The sudden onset of pain in your left upper arm, armpit, and inner forearm upon waking can be concerning, especially when there was no prior injury or strenuous activity. Based on your description, it seems like you are experiencing localized pain that is exacerbated by touch, which can indicate several potential underlying issues.
One possibility is that you may be experiencing a form of muscle strain or overuse syndrome, even if you did not engage in any vigorous activity prior to the pain onset. Sometimes, awkward sleeping positions can lead to muscle strain or nerve compression, particularly if your arm was positioned in a way that put pressure on certain muscles or nerves. This can result in discomfort that feels similar to soreness after physical exertion.
Another consideration is the possibility of a condition known as thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). TOS occurs when blood vessels or nerves in the space between your collarbone and your first rib are compressed. Symptoms can include pain in the shoulders and neck, as well as numbness in the fingers. While you mentioned that there are no visible abnormalities in the armpit area, the pain you are experiencing could still be related to nerve compression in that region.
Additionally, you might be experiencing symptoms related to fibromyalgia or myofascial pain syndrome, which can cause widespread pain and tenderness in the body, often without a clear cause. These conditions can lead to heightened sensitivity in certain areas, making even light touch painful.
Given that the pain has persisted for a few days without improvement, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend imaging studies, such as an X-ray or MRI, to rule out any structural issues, such as a herniated disc or other spinal problems that could be contributing to your symptoms. Blood tests may also be conducted to check for inflammatory markers or other underlying conditions.
In the meantime, you can try some conservative measures to alleviate the pain. Applying ice to the affected area can help reduce inflammation, while gentle stretching and range-of-motion exercises may improve mobility and decrease discomfort. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, can also be effective in managing pain.
It's important to listen to your body and avoid activities that exacerbate the pain. If the pain worsens or if you develop additional symptoms, such as weakness, numbness, or changes in sensation, seek medical attention promptly. Early intervention can help prevent further complications and facilitate a quicker recovery.
In summary, while the sudden pain you are experiencing could be due to a variety of factors, including muscle strain, nerve compression, or other underlying conditions, a thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional is essential for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
