Glans issues
Recently, after masturbating, I noticed that the glans is particularly sensitive.
When I apply pressure, I feel a tingling sensation in the anterior tibial muscle of my right leg, similar to an electrical stimulation.
This sensation occurs not only during an erection but is limited to the area near the glans and the posterior part of the testicles.
I have confirmed that everything else is normal.
What could be the issue?

Hello: Please seek medical attention, as it is likely a neurological issue.
Wishing you good health.

Sensitivity issues in the glans, or the head of the penis, can be a source of concern for many individuals. The symptoms you describe, such as heightened sensitivity in the glans and a tingling or electric sensation in the anterior tibial muscle of the right leg during or after ejaculation, can be attributed to several potential causes.
Firstly, it’s important to understand that the glans is densely packed with nerve endings, making it particularly sensitive to touch, pressure, and other stimuli. This heightened sensitivity can be influenced by various factors, including:
1. Physical Stimulation: Frequent or intense stimulation of the glans, whether through sexual activity or masturbation, can lead to temporary sensitivity. This is often a normal response and may resolve with time or reduced stimulation.
2. Nerve Sensitivity: The sensation you describe in your leg could be related to nerve pathways. The pudendal nerve, which innervates the genital area, can sometimes cause referred sensations in other parts of the body, including the legs. This phenomenon is known as referred pain or sensation and can occur due to the interconnected nature of the nervous system.
3. Psychological Factors: Anxiety or stress related to sexual performance or sensitivity can also heighten awareness of sensations in the genital area. Psychological factors can play a significant role in how we perceive physical sensations.
4. Infections or Inflammation: Conditions such as balanitis (inflammation of the glans) or sexually transmitted infections can lead to increased sensitivity and discomfort. If there are any accompanying symptoms such as redness, swelling, or discharge, it would be prudent to consult a healthcare provider.
5. Skin Conditions: Dermatitis or other skin conditions affecting the genital area can also lead to increased sensitivity. Irritation from soaps, lotions, or other products can exacerbate this issue.
6. Hormonal Changes: Fluctuations in hormone levels can affect sensitivity and sexual function. This is particularly relevant in younger individuals or those experiencing changes in their sexual health.
Given that you have confirmed normal findings upon examination, it may be beneficial to consider the following solutions:
- Moderation in Stimulation: If you find that certain activities lead to increased sensitivity, consider moderating the frequency or intensity of stimulation.
- Relaxation Techniques: Engaging in relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or mindfulness can help alleviate anxiety related to sexual performance and sensitivity.
- Consultation with a Specialist: If the sensitivity persists or worsens, it may be helpful to consult a urologist or a sexual health specialist. They can provide a thorough evaluation and rule out any underlying conditions.
- Avoid Irritants: Be mindful of products used in the genital area. Opt for gentle, unscented soaps and avoid harsh chemicals that could irritate the skin.
- Pelvic Floor Exercises: Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles through exercises such as Kegels may help improve control and sensitivity.
In summary, while increased sensitivity in the glans can be concerning, it is often a normal response to stimulation or related to nerve pathways. Monitoring the situation and consulting with a healthcare provider if symptoms persist or worsen is advisable. Understanding the underlying causes and implementing appropriate strategies can help manage sensitivity issues effectively.
