Genital and skin issues?
I have a test tomorrow, and I'm not sure if my body is reacting to the stress, but it shouldn't affect me too much! A couple of days ago, I noticed a lump in my genital area that hurts when I wash it, but I can still urinate normally.
After applying some essential oil, the pain went away, but my skin seems to be getting itchy, and small bumps are appearing in that area (they disappear after applying medication), but the itching persists.
I just noticed that the lump seems to be smaller now, but it still itches without any pain.
I'm thinking of seeing a doctor after the exam.
I'm wondering if this is due to stress, anxiety, or some underlying health issue.

Hello, based on your symptom description, it is more likely that you are experiencing contact dermatitis or folliculitis.
It is recommended to maintain a light diet, have a regular daily routine, and keep the perineal area clean and dry.
Avoid wearing tight clothing.
You may soak in a bath to relieve symptoms.
If symptoms persist, please consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
Thank you! Wishing you peace and health.

It sounds like you're experiencing a range of skin issues that could be related to stress and anxiety, especially with the upcoming exam. Stress can indeed have a significant impact on your skin health, leading to various conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or even exacerbating existing skin problems.
From what you've described, it seems you have a painful bump in the genital area that has improved with the application of essential oils, but now you're experiencing itching and the development of small bumps. While it's good that the pain has subsided, the itching and appearance of new bumps are concerning and warrant further investigation.
The initial bump you mentioned could be a number of things, including a follicular infection, a cyst, or even a benign growth. The fact that it hurts when you apply pressure and has changed in size suggests that it could be an inflamed hair follicle or a small cyst. The itching and the appearance of additional bumps could indicate a localized allergic reaction, irritation, or even a mild infection.
Using essential oils can sometimes provide temporary relief, but they can also irritate the skin further, especially in sensitive areas. It's important to be cautious with their use, as they can cause allergic reactions in some individuals. If the itching persists or worsens, or if you notice any changes in the bump, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional sooner rather than later.
In terms of stress and its effects on your skin, it's well-documented that stress can lead to increased inflammation in the body, which can exacerbate skin conditions. Additionally, stress can disrupt your hormonal balance, potentially leading to breakouts or other skin issues. Managing stress through relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, or gentle exercise, can be beneficial for both your mental and skin health.
While it might be tempting to wait until after your exam to seek medical advice, I would recommend considering a visit to a healthcare provider sooner if the symptoms do not improve or if they worsen. A dermatologist or healthcare professional can provide a proper diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. They may recommend topical treatments, lifestyle changes, or other interventions to help alleviate your symptoms.
In summary, while stress could be contributing to your skin issues, it's important to address the specific symptoms you're experiencing. Monitor your condition closely, avoid further irritation, and seek medical advice if necessary. Taking care of your skin and overall health is crucial, especially during stressful times like exams. Good luck with your studies!
