Hello Doctor: I have approximately -500 myopia in both eyes and I frequently look at the computer for work, as well as switch between my phone and computer during leisure time.
Last weekend, I realized I was staring at my phone screen excessively, almost all the time I was awake.
Since last Sunday, I've noticed that when I wake up in the morning, my vision is foggy and it takes about ten minutes to return to normal.
When I look at things, especially black text on white paper, it seems like there’s a kind of shadow effect, and when I look at the sky, I see a few black spots and transparent floaters.
Two days ago, I went to a clinic for an examination.
They didn't perform dilation but did take a picture of my macula.
The doctor said my eyeballs are normal and prescribed me some eye drops (Systane) and a type of artificial tears.
Yesterday, feeling uneasy, I went to another clinic for a dilated examination.
That doctor also said my eyes are fine; both my retina and intraocular pressure are normal, and they prescribed the same eye drops and another type of artificial tears.
I have already had two examinations, used the prescribed eye drops, and reduced my screen time, but this morning I still experienced the same symptoms.
Currently, when looking at black text on white paper, it still appears blurry.
I would like to ask if I should just follow the advice of both doctors, use the eye drops on schedule, and rest more? Or should I seek another dilated examination or go to a larger hospital for further evaluation?
