About urethritis?

Hello, doctor.
Last week, I used a masturbator for the first time, and I'm not sure if I was too vigorous in my actions.
The next morning, I noticed swelling in my urethra and a small amount of yellow-green discharge (less than a drop).
Urination was slightly painful as well.
Over the past few days, the swelling has subsided, the yellow-green discharge has decreased significantly, and the discomfort during urination has improved a lot.
However, there is still a clear fluid accumulating at the urethral opening.
After I clean it, it reappears shortly after.
It feels neither sticky nor slippery, and the amount is not enough to leak out.
Each morning, I find a small dried spot of discharge on my underwear.
Currently, I do not experience any pain during erections or ejaculation.
I have read that yellow-green and clear discharges are often associated with gonorrhea and chlamydia urethritis.
I would like to know if general urethritis or prostatitis can also cause persistent clear discharge, or if this could be indicative of another condition?

Urethritis, or inflammation of the urethra, can manifest with various symptoms, including pain during urination, discharge, and swelling. Your experience of using a sex toy, followed by symptoms such as slight swelling, yellow-green discharge, and discomfort during urination, raises several important considerations regarding potential causes and concerns.

Symptoms and Their Implications
1. Discharge: The presence of yellow-green discharge is often associated with infections, particularly sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as gonorrhea or chlamydia. However, the fact that this discharge has decreased and is now mostly transparent could indicate a less severe infection or irritation rather than a full-blown STI. In contrast, clear discharge can also occur in cases of non-infectious urethritis or even in conditions like prostatitis.

2. Pain and Discomfort: The initial pain and discomfort during urination you experienced could be attributed to irritation or inflammation caused by the vigorous use of the sex toy. As the swelling has subsided and the pain has decreased, this suggests that the inflammation may be resolving. However, persistent discomfort or changes in discharge should not be ignored.

3. Persistent Clear Discharge: The ongoing presence of a clear liquid at the urethral opening could be a sign of several conditions. In some cases, it may be a normal physiological response, but it can also indicate chronic urethritis or prostatitis. If the discharge is not associated with pain or other symptoms, it may not be a cause for concern, but it is essential to monitor it.

Possible Causes
- Infectious Urethritis: This is often caused by STIs, but can also result from non-sexually transmitted bacteria. Symptoms typically include painful urination, discharge, and sometimes swelling.

- Non-Infectious Urethritis: This can occur due to mechanical irritation (like from vigorous sexual activity), chemical irritants (such as soaps or lotions), or even allergic reactions.

- Prostatitis: Inflammation of the prostate can lead to similar symptoms, including pain during urination and discharge. This condition can be acute or chronic and may require different treatment approaches.

Recommendations
1. Consult a Healthcare Provider: Given your symptoms, it is crucial to consult a healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend urine tests, swabs, or other diagnostic procedures to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.

2. Avoid Irritants: Until you have a clearer understanding of your condition, it may be wise to avoid any activities that could further irritate the urethra, such as vigorous sexual activity or the use of sex toys.

3. Hydration: Increasing your fluid intake can help flush out your urinary system, which may alleviate some symptoms.

4. Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any changes in your symptoms, including the amount and type of discharge, pain levels, and any new symptoms that may arise. This information will be valuable for your healthcare provider.

5. Sexual Health: If you are sexually active, consider discussing STI testing with your healthcare provider, especially if you have had multiple partners or unprotected sex.

Conclusion
While your symptoms may be resolving, it is essential to remain vigilant and seek medical advice to rule out any serious conditions. Urethritis can have various causes, and understanding the underlying issue is key to effective treatment. Early intervention can prevent complications and ensure a swift return to health.
