White granules on the inner side of the foreskin?

Hello Doctor, I recently discovered several whitish small bumps on the inner side of my foreskin while showering.
I'm not sure how long they have been there, and since I have not engaged in sexual intercourse, I feel it is unlikely to be a sexually transmitted infection.
I would like to ask if this is a normal anatomical structure? I have attached a picture of the bumps here: https://upload.cc/i1/2024/04/04/S17wbO.jpg.
Thank you for your clarification, Doctor!

Hello: This area cannot be diagnosed; it is mostly related to the skin's sebaceous glands, which may sometimes be prominent and sometimes not.
However, it is important to keep the skin clean and dry, and it should not be red.
Wishing you good health.

The presence of white bumps on the inner foreskin can be concerning, especially when noticed unexpectedly. However, it is important to understand that there are several benign conditions that can cause such appearances, and they are not necessarily indicative of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or any serious health issue.

One common cause of white bumps on the inner foreskin is a condition known as pearly penile papules. These are small, dome-shaped, white or flesh-colored bumps that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head of the penis) and are completely normal anatomical variations. They are not harmful and do not require treatment. Pearly penile papules are often mistaken for warts or other lesions, but they are a normal part of male anatomy and are not associated with any disease.

Another possibility is the presence of Fordyce spots, which are small, painless, pale bumps that can appear on the shaft of the penis or the inner foreskin. These spots are sebaceous glands that are not associated with hair follicles and are also completely normal. They are harmless and do not require any treatment.

In some cases, the white bumps could be related to a condition called balanitis, which is inflammation of the glans and can sometimes extend to the foreskin. Balanitis can be caused by poor hygiene, infections, or skin conditions. Symptoms may include redness, swelling, and discomfort, and it may require treatment if it is associated with an infection or significant inflammation.

If the bumps are accompanied by other symptoms such as itching, pain, or discharge, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a proper evaluation. They may perform a physical examination and, if necessary, additional tests to determine the exact cause of the bumps.

It is also important to maintain good hygiene practices to prevent any potential infections. Regular washing with mild soap and water, ensuring the area is dry after bathing, and avoiding irritants can help maintain the health of the genital area.

In summary, while the discovery of white bumps on the inner foreskin can be alarming, many cases are benign and do not indicate a serious health issue. Conditions like pearly penile papules and Fordyce spots are normal anatomical variations. However, if there are any concerns or accompanying symptoms, seeking medical advice is the best course of action to ensure peace of mind and proper care.
