Sanfu Plaster
Could you please let me know if there are any hospitals in Kaohsiung or Tainan that offer Sanfu plaster treatment? I previously received this treatment at Taipei City Hospital Zhongxing Branch, but I am currently unable to travel to the north.
I have searched for related information but could not find any hospitals in the south that provide Sanfu plaster treatment.
Could you please inform me, doctor?

Dr. Yan Sumei reply Traditional Chinese Medicine
I'm not sure if Sanfu Plaster is available at hospitals or clinics in Kaohsiung and Tainan.
You might need to call each one individually, such as Kaohsiung Municipal Chinese Medicine Hospital, Tainan Municipal Hospital, or other larger hospitals that have a Traditional Chinese Medicine department.
In the Taichung area, China Medical University Hospital and Changhua Show Chwan Hospital offer it, and our hospital is also prepared to provide it this year.

More Info
Finding hospitals in Southern Taiwan that offer Sanfu plaster treatments can be a bit challenging, especially if you're accustomed to the services available in Northern Taiwan, such as those at Taipei City Hospital. Sanfu plaster, or "Sanfu Tie," is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment that involves applying medicated plasters during the hottest days of summer to help strengthen the body's immune system and alleviate chronic conditions, particularly respiratory issues.
In Southern Taiwan, specifically in cities like Kaohsiung and Tainan, there are several hospitals and clinics that may provide Sanfu plaster treatments. While specific information may not be readily available online, I recommend reaching out directly to hospitals that have traditional Chinese medicine departments. Some potential places to consider include:
1. Kaohsiung Municipal Chinese Medicine Hospital: This hospital specializes in traditional Chinese medicine and may offer Sanfu plaster treatments. It would be beneficial to call them directly to inquire about their services.
2. Tainan Municipal Hospital: Similar to the Kaohsiung facility, Tainan Municipal Hospital has a department for traditional Chinese medicine. They may also provide Sanfu plaster treatments, so contacting them for more information would be advisable.
3. Chimei Medical Center: Located in Tainan, this hospital is known for its comprehensive medical services, including traditional Chinese medicine. They may have practitioners who can provide Sanfu plaster treatments.
4. National Cheng Kung University Hospital: This hospital is affiliated with a medical university and has a robust traditional Chinese medicine department. They may offer Sanfu plaster treatments or be able to refer you to someone who does.
When contacting these hospitals, it’s helpful to ask specifically about the availability of Sanfu plaster treatments, the qualifications of the practitioners, and whether you need to make an appointment in advance.
In addition to hospitals, you might also consider visiting local traditional Chinese medicine clinics. Many licensed practitioners offer Sanfu plaster treatments, especially during the summer months when the treatment is most effective.
It's important to note that while Sanfu plaster is generally considered safe, it’s always best to consult with a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new treatment, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking other medications. They can provide personalized advice based on your health history and current condition.
In summary, while specific information about Sanfu plaster treatments in Southern Taiwan may not be readily available, there are several hospitals and clinics that likely offer this service. Directly contacting these facilities will provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date information.
