There may be a sensation of urinary urgency?
Hello, I have recently noticed that when I am lying down or sitting, I have a sensation of needing to urinate, as if urine is being "released" from my penis.
My underwear also feels a bit damp.
This has only been happening for the past couple of days; it has never occurred before.
Could this be due to excessive masturbation (almost once or twice a day)? Or could it be related to the cold medication I am taking, as I have been feeling a bit under the weather lately? I would appreciate your help.
Thank you!

Hello young man: Is this feeling you have occurring after urination? If so, it may be related to the cold medication you are taking.
Have you experienced any difficulty or weakness while urinating during the time you have been on the medication? If so, these symptoms could be caused by the ingredients in the cold medicine.
Additionally, having damp underwear does not necessarily indicate "leakage" (incontinence).
In certain situations, such as viewing erotic materials, watching television, or engaging in sexual fantasies, the secretion from the Cowper's glands can cause the underwear to become wet and sticky, which is not a concern.
At a young age, with abundant energy, it's beneficial to engage in activities that are good for both your body and mind.
However, be cautious about masturbating one or two times a day, as it may be excessive!

More Info
Experiencing urinary leakage or the sensation of involuntary urination can be distressing and may stem from various underlying causes. Given your recent symptoms of feeling wetness in your underwear while lying down or sitting, it’s essential to explore potential reasons for this sensation and address any concerns you may have.
Firstly, it’s important to understand that urinary leakage can occur due to several factors, including but not limited to urinary tract infections (UTIs), prostate issues, neurological conditions, or even side effects from medications. In your case, you mentioned that this sensation has only recently developed, which could indicate a new underlying issue or a change in your body’s response to certain activities or medications.
1. Prostate Health: For males, prostate health is a significant factor in urinary function. Conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostatitis can lead to urinary urgency, frequency, and leakage. If you have not had a recent evaluation of your prostate health, it may be worthwhile to discuss this with your healthcare provider.
2. Neurological Factors: The sensation of involuntary leakage can also be linked to neurological conditions that affect bladder control. If there has been any recent trauma, surgery, or even stress that could impact your nervous system, this might be a contributing factor.
3. Medications: You mentioned taking cold medication recently. Some medications can have side effects that affect bladder function. For example, certain antihistamines can lead to urinary retention, while others may cause increased urgency or leakage. It’s crucial to review the side effects of any medications you are currently taking with your healthcare provider.
4. Behavioral Factors: Frequent masturbation, as you mentioned, is generally not a direct cause of urinary leakage. However, excessive or aggressive sexual activity can sometimes lead to temporary irritation or inflammation of the urethra, which might contribute to unusual sensations or leakage.
5. Infections: UTIs can cause increased urgency and leakage. If you have any accompanying symptoms such as burning during urination, increased frequency, or cloudy urine, it would be wise to get a urinalysis to rule out an infection.
6. Lifestyle Factors: Hydration levels, caffeine intake, and overall bladder health can also play a role. If you consume a lot of caffeine or alcohol, these can irritate the bladder and lead to increased urgency and leakage.
Given these considerations, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend tests such as a urinalysis, prostate examination, or even imaging studies to assess your urinary tract and prostate health.
In the meantime, keeping a diary of your symptoms, including when they occur, any associated activities, and your fluid intake, can provide valuable information to your healthcare provider. This can help in diagnosing the issue more accurately.
In summary, while the sensation of urinary leakage can be concerning, it is essential to approach this issue with a comprehensive evaluation to determine the underlying cause. Early intervention can lead to effective management and relief from symptoms. Please do not hesitate to seek medical advice to address your concerns and improve your quality of life.
