Glans issues?

Hello, Dr.
Tsai.
My glans is retracted due to phimosis.
Recently, while showering, I forcibly pulled back my foreskin while not erect, which caused swelling because the ring at the front was too tight.
I went to a clinic for a check-up, and the doctor suggested two options: 1.
circumcision, or 2.
a procedure to relieve the pressure.
I chose the second option, and the issue has been resolved.
The surgical wound is healing as well.
However, I have noticed some small white bumps near the corona of my glans.
They are not painful or itchy.
According to online consultations with doctors, this seems to be normal.
However, one of the bumps appears to be more prominent and loose, and it becomes very painful when it rubs against my clothing.
I am unsure what this condition is.
Could you please help me understand? Thank you.

I really don't understand what you mean by a white spot near the coronal sulcus of the glans.
Please visit a urology clinic for a consultation with a physician who can provide you with answers.

After undergoing surgery for a condition related to phimosis, it is not uncommon to experience various symptoms and concerns regarding the healing process and any new developments in the genital area. In your case, you mentioned that after the surgical procedure, you noticed white bumps near the corona of the glans, with one of them being particularly prominent and painful when it comes into contact with clothing.
Firstly, it is important to understand that the appearance of white bumps on the glans can be attributed to several benign conditions. One common cause is the presence of pearly penile papules, which are small, harmless bumps that can appear around the corona of the glans. They are a normal anatomical variant and do not require treatment unless they cause discomfort or concern. However, since you mentioned that one of these bumps is painful and feels different from the others, it is crucial to have it evaluated by a healthcare professional.

The pain you are experiencing could be due to a few reasons:
1. Post-Surgical Healing: After any surgical procedure, the area may be sensitive as it heals. Swelling and tenderness can occur, especially if the area has been manipulated or if there is residual inflammation. This could explain the discomfort you feel when the bump is rubbed against clothing.

2. Friction or Irritation: If the bump is in a location that is frequently subjected to friction from clothing, it may become irritated. This irritation can lead to increased sensitivity and pain. It is advisable to wear loose-fitting underwear and clothing to minimize friction in the area while it heals.

3. Infection or Cyst Formation: Although less common, it is possible for a cyst or an infection to develop post-surgery. If the bump appears red, swollen, or if you notice any discharge, it is essential to seek medical attention as this may indicate an infection that requires treatment.

4. Scar Tissue: Depending on the surgical technique used, scar tissue may form, which can sometimes be more sensitive than the surrounding tissue. If the bump is related to scar tissue, it may improve over time as the area continues to heal.

Given your concerns, it is advisable to follow up with your surgeon or a urologist. They can perform a physical examination to determine the nature of the bump and whether any treatment is necessary. In some cases, if the bump is determined to be a cyst or another benign condition, it may be monitored without intervention. However, if it is causing significant discomfort, options for removal can be discussed.

In the meantime, maintaining proper hygiene and avoiding any irritants in the area will be beneficial. If you experience any worsening symptoms, such as increased pain, redness, swelling, or discharge, do not hesitate to seek medical attention promptly.

In conclusion, while some post-surgical symptoms can be expected, any new or concerning developments should be evaluated by a healthcare professional to ensure proper healing and to rule out any complications. Your comfort and health are paramount, and addressing these concerns with a qualified provider will help you achieve peace of mind.
