Prepuce and penis
Hello, I have a question to ask.
I have never undergone circumcision and have not had any sexual experience.
A few days ago, I intentionally pulled my foreskin back, but it was very painful.
I heard that the foreskin is connected to the penis, but if I pull it back for the first time, it won't hurt afterward.
I managed to pull the foreskin back enough to see the glans, but once the glans was fully exposed, I was afraid to pull harder because it hurt a bit.
I'm not sure if I have separated the penis from the foreskin, and I'm worried that pulling too hard might injure my genitalia, so I stopped.
However, when I tried to pull it back again, it didn't feel as easy as others said it would be after the first time.
I would like to know if pulling it back forcefully could cause any issues.
Would circumcision help resolve this problem? I'm not afraid of the pain; I'm more concerned about whether pulling too hard could cause any problems.
Could you please clarify this for me? Thank you!

Hello: Some individuals have a smaller opening of the foreskin, which may cause it to get stuck on the glans when retracted.

Hello! Thank you for your question regarding concerns about the foreskin and penis, particularly regarding pain and the potential for injury when attempting to retract the foreskin.
First, it’s important to understand that the foreskin is a fold of skin that covers the glans (the head) of the penis. In many males, the foreskin is naturally attached to the glans at birth and may not fully retract until puberty or later. This is a normal physiological condition known as phimosis, which is common in younger males. In some cases, the foreskin may remain tight or difficult to retract even into adulthood, which can lead to discomfort or pain when attempting to pull it back.
From your description, it sounds like you experienced pain when trying to retract your foreskin. This is not uncommon, especially if the foreskin is still tightly attached to the glans or if there is any inflammation or sensitivity present. Forcing the foreskin back can lead to pain, tearing, or even bleeding, which is why it’s crucial to approach this gently and with care.
If you are experiencing pain during retraction, it’s advisable to avoid forcing it back. Instead, you can try to gradually desensitize the area by gently pulling back the foreskin during bathing or when you are relaxed, allowing your body to adjust to the sensation. Over time, this may help to make retraction easier and less painful.
Regarding your concern about whether retracting the foreskin will become easier after the first time, it can vary from person to person. Some individuals may find that after the initial retraction, it becomes easier over time, while others may continue to experience discomfort. If you find that the pain persists or worsens, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional, such as a urologist, who can provide a thorough examination and discuss your options.
As for circumcision (the surgical removal of the foreskin), it is a procedure that can resolve issues related to phimosis and make retraction easier. However, it is essential to weigh the benefits and risks of the procedure. Circumcision can lead to complications such as bleeding, infection, or changes in sensitivity, so it should be considered carefully and discussed with a healthcare provider.
In summary, if you are experiencing pain when attempting to retract your foreskin, it is best to avoid forcing it and to consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice. They can assess your situation and help determine whether circumcision or other treatments are appropriate for you. Remember, it’s essential to prioritize your comfort and health, and seeking professional guidance is always a good step when dealing with concerns about your body.
