Dear Doctor: My right upper eyelid has been twitching unknowingly for over six months.
Recently, the symptoms have lessened, but I still experience occasional spasms.
What concerns me more is that for the past couple of days, I have been feeling waves of tingling sensations throughout my body, mostly when standing or walking, and at night, my limbs experience persistent numbness while I sleep.
I have been taking antidepressants and sedatives for eight years, often in combination with alcohol, and I am unsure if this has harmed my nervous system.
