Prepuce and glans penis

Hello doctor, I recently noticed some pain at the junction of my foreskin and glans while showering two days ago.
Upon inspection, I found a tiny hole at the junction, resembling a small tear.
Could this be caused by a fungal infection or dryness leading to this small tear? Additionally, I have another question: sometimes after urinating, I feel like I have finished, but a little bit of urine still dribbles out.
Is this a medical issue? Thank you for your response.

Anonymous: Hello, your questions: 1.
Tear of the foreskin and glans: Most cases are caused by fungal infections.
Generally, reducing local irritation is sufficient; avoid hot water and cleansers.
If necessary, apply some baby oil, and it should heal in about 3-7 days.
Of course, if you can see a doctor and use topical medications, healing will be faster.
2.
Dripping a few drops after using the restroom: Sometimes this occurs because the waistband of the pants is too high, making it difficult for urine to fully drain.
It is recommended to lower your pants next time you urinate, rather than just unzipping, which should help improve the situation.

Hello! Thank you for your inquiry regarding the pain and issues at the junction of the penis and glans. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing discomfort and a small fissure at the area where the foreskin meets the glans. This can indeed be concerning, and I appreciate your proactive approach in seeking medical advice.

Firstly, the small crack or fissure you mentioned could be attributed to several factors, including dryness, irritation, or even a fungal infection, such as candidiasis (commonly known as a yeast infection). The glans and the area beneath the foreskin can sometimes become irritated due to a lack of moisture, friction, or poor hygiene. If the area is not kept clean and dry, it can lead to fungal growth, which may cause symptoms like pain, redness, and even a discharge.

In terms of treatment, maintaining good hygiene is crucial. Ensure that you gently clean the area with mild soap and water, and dry it thoroughly afterward. If you suspect a fungal infection, over-the-counter antifungal creams may be helpful, but it is best to consult with a healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Regarding your second concern about experiencing a small amount of urine leakage after you feel you have finished urinating, this can be a common issue known as post-void dribbling. This condition can occur for various reasons, including weak pelvic floor muscles, incomplete bladder emptying, or issues with the urethra. It is not uncommon, especially in men, and can sometimes be improved with pelvic floor exercises or other interventions.

If the pain persists, the fissure does not heal, or if you notice any unusual discharge, it is essential to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a physical examination and may recommend tests to rule out any underlying conditions, such as infections or anatomical issues.

In summary, the symptoms you are experiencing could be related to dryness or a fungal infection, and the post-void dribbling may be a separate issue that could benefit from further evaluation. It is always best to consult with a urologist or a healthcare provider who specializes in male reproductive health for a thorough assessment and tailored treatment options.

Take care, and I hope you find relief soon!
