Allergy?
Hello doctor, I recently met with someone I met online, and we engaged in fondling (without intercourse).
However, he ejaculated on me, and a few hours later, the area where he ejaculated started to itch, followed by the appearance of a rash.
It has been 2 days, and it is still red.
What could this be? Could it be a sexually transmitted infection? Do I need to see a doctor?

It sounds like you are experiencing a localized allergic reaction or irritation following intimate contact. The symptoms you describe—itching and the appearance of red rashes—are common responses to allergens or irritants. In your case, the reaction could be due to several factors, including the bodily fluids involved, any products used during the encounter (such as lotions or lubricants), or even the friction from physical contact.
When it comes to allergic reactions, the skin can respond to a variety of substances. In your situation, if the redness and itching occurred shortly after the contact, it is plausible that you are experiencing a hypersensitivity reaction to proteins found in semen. This type of reaction is sometimes referred to as seminal plasma hypersensitivity, which is rare but can occur. Alternatively, if you used any products during the encounter, such as scented lotions or lubricants, these could also be potential irritants.
As for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), while your symptoms do not definitively indicate an STI, it is important to consider the possibility, especially if you have had unprotected contact. Symptoms of STIs can sometimes mimic allergic reactions, and some infections can present with itching and rashes. Therefore, it is advisable to consult a healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend tests to rule out STIs and provide appropriate treatment based on your symptoms.
In the meantime, here are some steps you can take to manage your symptoms:
1. Avoid Irritants: Refrain from using any scented products or harsh soaps on the affected area until the irritation subsides. Stick to gentle, hypoallergenic cleansers.
2. Cool Compress: Applying a cool, damp cloth to the affected area can help soothe itching and reduce inflammation.
3. Over-the-Counter Treatments: You may consider using over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream to alleviate itching and redness. However, avoid applying it to broken skin or open sores.
4. Moisturize: Keeping the skin moisturized can help prevent further irritation. Use a fragrance-free moisturizer to avoid exacerbating the symptoms.
5. Monitor Symptoms: Keep an eye on your symptoms. If they worsen or do not improve within a few days, it is essential to seek medical attention.
6. Consult a Doctor: If you experience additional symptoms such as fever, unusual discharge, or if the rash spreads, it is crucial to see a healthcare professional promptly.
In conclusion, while your symptoms may be related to an allergic reaction, it is essential to rule out other potential causes, including STIs. Consulting with a healthcare provider will give you the best chance of receiving an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Remember, it is always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health.
