How much does adjusting one's schedule help?

During high school, I intentionally adjusted my sleep schedule to be more regular in order to prepare for the college entrance exam, and I noticed an increase in my height.
However, I later reverted to an irregular sleep pattern.
Recently, I have managed to readjust my sleep schedule.
How much does having a normal sleep schedule contribute to height growth? Additionally, I have heard about a height-increasing food developed in Japan, specifically soy isoflavones, which are said to be very helpful for growth.
I would like to know if there is any information regarding this.
Thank you for your assistance.

Height is influenced by genetics, but environmental factors such as nutrition also play a significant role.
Generally, children of taller parents tend to be taller themselves.
Adequate nutrition, regular exercise, and a normal daily routine during the growth period can contribute to increased height.
Other methods are merely folk remedies and have not been proven effective.

The relationship between sleep schedules and height growth is a topic of significant interest, especially among adolescents who are still in their growth phase. During puberty, the body undergoes various changes, and sleep plays a crucial role in this process. Growth hormone, which is vital for growth and development, is primarily secreted during deep sleep, particularly in the early stages of the sleep cycle. This is why maintaining a regular sleep schedule is essential for maximizing growth potential.

When you mentioned that adjusting your sleep schedule to a more regular pattern resulted in an increase in height, it aligns with the understanding that consistent sleep can enhance the secretion of growth hormone. Conversely, irregular sleep patterns, such as staying up late and sleeping during the day, can disrupt the natural circadian rhythm, potentially leading to insufficient deep sleep. This disruption may hinder the optimal release of growth hormone, which could impact height growth.

Regarding your concern about the impact of night owl habits on growth, it is important to note that while genetics play a significant role in determining height, environmental factors such as nutrition, exercise, and sleep hygiene are also crucial. A consistent sleep schedule that allows for adequate rest (generally 8-10 hours for adolescents) is beneficial not only for physical growth but also for cognitive function and overall health.

As for the specific sleep hours you mentioned, aiming for a sleep schedule from 9:30 PM to 2:00 AM, followed by studying, may not provide sufficient restorative sleep. While you might feel productive studying late at night, the quality of sleep you get is paramount. Sleep deprivation can lead to fatigue, decreased concentration, and even mood disturbances, which can indirectly affect your academic performance and overall well-being.

Regarding the mention of soy isoflavones and their potential role in height growth, there is some evidence suggesting that these compounds may have health benefits, including hormonal balance. However, the direct impact of soy isoflavones on height growth is not well-established in scientific literature. While they may contribute to overall health, relying solely on supplements or specific foods for height increase is not advisable. A balanced diet rich in essential nutrients, including proteins, vitamins, and minerals, is crucial for supporting growth during adolescence.

In summary, maintaining a regular sleep schedule is vital for maximizing growth potential during adolescence. Aim for sufficient sleep each night, ideally at consistent times, to support your body's natural growth processes. While dietary supplements like soy isoflavones may have health benefits, they should complement a well-rounded diet rather than serve as a primary means for height increase. If you have ongoing concerns about your growth or sleep patterns, consulting with a healthcare professional or a nutritionist can provide personalized guidance tailored to your needs.
