Burning sensation in the urethra after ejaculation retention?
Hello, doctor.
I have been masturbating, and during one occasion, I held my hand over my urethra while doing so.
After that, I felt a sensation in my urethra similar to having a full bladder, along with a slight burning sensation that lasted for a while.
Eventually, it went away.
However, in the past few days, I have noticed that my semen volume has decreased by about one-third, and it also flows out differently.
Why could this be happening? I am not experiencing any discomfort at the moment.
Thank you for your help.
Please let me know the possible reasons.

If urination is not painful, then there is usually no concern.
However, if there is pain, it may indicate a urinary tract infection or inflammation, and you should see a urologist for examination and treatment.
Also, please don't be too hard on your younger brother.

Urethral burning after ejaculation can be a concerning symptom, and it's important to understand the potential causes and underlying mechanisms. The sensation of burning or discomfort in the urethra, especially after ejaculation, can be attributed to several factors, including irritation, inflammation, or even psychological aspects related to the act of masturbation itself.
One common cause of urethral burning is irritation of the urethra, which can occur due to friction during masturbation. If you applied pressure or held back during ejaculation, this could have caused temporary irritation or inflammation of the urethral lining. This irritation can lead to a burning sensation, similar to what you described. The urethra is sensitive, and any excessive force or unusual handling can lead to discomfort.
Another factor to consider is the possibility of a urinary tract infection (UTI) or sexually transmitted infection (STI). While you mentioned that you do not currently feel any discomfort, infections can sometimes present with mild symptoms or may not be immediately noticeable. If the burning sensation persists or worsens, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and possibly a urinalysis to rule out any infections.
Regarding the decrease in semen volume, there are several potential explanations. A reduction in semen production can occur due to various factors, including hydration levels, frequency of ejaculation, and overall health. If you are dehydrated or have recently increased the frequency of masturbation, this could lead to a temporary decrease in semen volume. Additionally, psychological factors such as stress or anxiety can also impact sexual function and ejaculation.
It's also worth noting that the body can experience fluctuations in semen production based on hormonal levels, age, and other physiological factors. If you are concerned about the changes in your semen volume or if the burning sensation continues, it would be wise to seek medical advice. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination, discuss your symptoms in detail, and provide appropriate tests if necessary.
In summary, the burning sensation you experienced after ejaculation could be due to irritation from masturbation, but it is essential to monitor your symptoms. If the burning persists or if you notice any other concerning symptoms, such as changes in urination, pain, or unusual discharge, please consult a healthcare professional. They can provide a more accurate diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment if needed. Remember, maintaining open communication about sexual health is crucial, and seeking help is a positive step towards addressing any concerns you may have.
