How should one eat for optimal health?
I currently have three types of vitamins and I'm unsure when to take them or if they can be taken together.
Since I got them directly from a relative's factory, I'm not sure what the best way to take them is!
1.
Vitamin E: Take one capsule after breakfast, and then take it every other day.
2.
B-complex vitamins: Take two capsules in the evening, every day.
3.
Evening primrose oil: Take two capsules twice a day, after lunch and dinner.

Hello: Since vitamins are organic compounds, whether they are water-soluble or fat-soluble, the best way to absorb them effectively is to consume them alongside other foods, with the ideal timing being after meals.
Vitamin E is relatively non-toxic, but excessive amounts can interfere with the metabolism and absorption of vitamin K, as well as affect coagulation functions.
Therefore, taking it the next day is fine.
Additionally, at 24 years old, you may not necessarily need to take vitamin E or evening primrose oil; it is generally better to obtain vitamins from natural food sources.
If you really want to take them, the method you mentioned is acceptable, but you do not need to take two capsules of evening primrose oil.
Finally, I wish you peace and happiness.
Bye!

More Info
When it comes to taking vitamins and supplements, understanding the timing and combinations can significantly impact their effectiveness and your overall health. Here’s a detailed guide on how to properly take the vitamins you mentioned, along with some general advice on vitamin intake.
1. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means it is best absorbed when taken with food that contains fat. Taking it after breakfast is a good practice, as it allows for better absorption. Since you mentioned taking it every other day, ensure that you maintain a consistent schedule to avoid fluctuations in your vitamin levels.
2. Vitamin B Complex
Vitamin B complex includes a variety of B vitamins that play crucial roles in energy metabolism and overall health. These vitamins are water-soluble, which means they can be taken on an empty stomach or with food. However, taking them in the evening, as you mentioned, is also fine. Some people find that B vitamins can be energizing, so if you notice difficulty sleeping, consider adjusting the timing to earlier in the day.
3. Evening Primrose Oil (月見草油)
Evening primrose oil is often taken for its beneficial fatty acids, particularly gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). It can be taken with meals to enhance absorption. Your plan to take it twice a day after lunch and dinner is appropriate. This timing allows for consistent levels of GLA in your system throughout the day.
Combining Vitamins
You can generally take these vitamins together, but it’s essential to consider a few factors:
- Fat-Soluble vs. Water-Soluble: Since Vitamin E is fat-soluble and the B vitamins are water-soluble, taking them together with a meal that contains some fat (like your breakfast) is beneficial. This way, you maximize the absorption of Vitamin E while still getting the B vitamins.
- Potential Interactions: While there are no significant interactions between these specific vitamins, it’s always wise to monitor how you feel when combining supplements. If you experience any discomfort, consider separating their intake.
General Recommendations
- Consistency is Key: Try to take your vitamins at the same time every day to establish a routine. This helps you remember to take them and ensures a steady supply of nutrients in your body.
- Balanced Diet: While supplements can help fill nutritional gaps, they should not replace a balanced diet. Aim to consume a variety of foods rich in vitamins and minerals, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially when taking water-soluble vitamins like the B complex. This aids in their absorption and helps your body utilize them effectively.
- Consultation with Healthcare Providers: If you have any underlying health conditions or are taking other medications, it’s wise to consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian before starting any new supplement regimen. They can provide personalized advice based on your health needs.
Conclusion
In summary, taking Vitamin E after breakfast, Vitamin B complex in the evening, and Evening Primrose Oil after lunch and dinner is a sound approach. Ensure you maintain a balanced diet and stay hydrated. Always listen to your body and adjust your routine as necessary. If you have any concerns or experience adverse effects, don’t hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for guidance.
