Pearly penile papules?
I have small bumps on my foreskin (they are very small) that seem to be increasing in number.
Also, when I urinate, I feel like I have finished, but there are still drops of urine coming out.
Will my condition get better?

More Info
When it comes to bumps on the foreskin, there are several potential causes that could explain your symptoms. The small bumps you are experiencing could be a result of various conditions, including pearly penile papules, Fordyce spots, or even a sexually transmitted infection (STI) such as genital warts or herpes. It's important to differentiate between these possibilities, as the treatment and implications can vary significantly.
1. Pearly Penile Papules: These are small, harmless bumps that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head of the penis). They are a normal anatomical variant and do not require treatment unless they cause psychological distress.
2. Fordyce Spots: These are small, painless, pale bumps that are sebaceous glands without hair follicles. They are also harmless and do not require treatment.
3. Genital Warts: Caused by certain strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV), genital warts can appear as small, flesh-colored or gray bumps. They may be itchy or uncomfortable and can spread through sexual contact. Treatment options include topical medications, cryotherapy, or surgical removal.
4. Herpes: This viral infection can cause painful blisters or sores in the genital area. If you suspect herpes, it is crucial to consult a healthcare provider for diagnosis and management.
Regarding the issue of dribbling urine after you feel you have finished urinating, this could be due to several factors:
- Post-void dribbling: This is a common issue where urine remains in the urethra after urination, leading to dripping. It can be caused by weak pelvic floor muscles or improper urination techniques.
- Prostatitis: Inflammation of the prostate gland can also lead to urinary symptoms, including dribbling.
- Urinary tract infection (UTI): An infection can cause changes in urination patterns, including urgency and dribbling.
- Urethral stricture: A narrowing of the urethra can lead to difficulty in urination and dribbling.
To address your concerns, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional who can perform a thorough examination and possibly recommend tests. They may conduct a physical examination, urine tests, or even imaging studies to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
In terms of treatment, if the bumps are benign (like pearly penile papules or Fordyce spots), no treatment is necessary. However, if they are due to an STI or another medical condition, appropriate treatment will be provided based on the diagnosis.
For the dribbling issue, pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises) can strengthen the muscles involved in urination, potentially reducing dribbling. Additionally, ensuring that you fully empty your bladder during urination can help minimize this issue.
In conclusion, while it is understandable to be concerned about these symptoms, many conditions are manageable and treatable. Seeking medical advice is the best course of action to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment. Remember, early intervention can lead to better outcomes, so don’t hesitate to reach out to a healthcare provider.
