Irregular menstruation?

On 07/11, I had my period for 39 days, and on 09/23, it lasted for 37 days.
From 10/14 to 10/28, I have been experiencing a small amount of dark discharge that resembles menstrual blood.
Could this be ovulatory bleeding? Also, tomorrow will be November, and I still haven't gotten my period for October.
Previously, I visited a gynecologist to regulate my menstrual cycle, and before August, my periods usually came around the 10th or 11th.
After the adjustment, my cycles were normal until August, but since then, they have become irregular.
What could be causing this irregularity? Should I see a gynecologist again to regulate my cycle?

Irregular menstrual cycles can be a source of concern for many women, and understanding the underlying causes is crucial for determining the appropriate course of action. Based on your description, it seems that you have experienced fluctuations in your menstrual cycle, with a notable change beginning in August. You mentioned having cycles of 39 days and 37 days, and now you're experiencing dark discharge that could be indicative of ovulation bleeding.
First, let's clarify what irregular menstrual cycles mean. A typical menstrual cycle ranges from 21 to 35 days, with an average of 28 days. Irregular cycles can manifest as variations in cycle length, missed periods, or unexpected bleeding. Factors contributing to irregular cycles can include hormonal imbalances, stress, significant weight changes, excessive exercise, or underlying medical conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders, or uterine abnormalities.

In your case, the dark discharge you are experiencing could potentially be related to ovulation bleeding, which occurs when an egg is released from the ovary. This type of bleeding is usually light and can be brown or dark in color, indicating older blood. However, it is essential to differentiate this from other causes of irregular bleeding, such as hormonal imbalances or other gynecological issues.

Given that your menstrual cycle was regular before August and has since become irregular, it is advisable to consult with a gynecologist. They can perform a thorough evaluation, which may include a physical examination, blood tests to check hormone levels, and possibly imaging studies like an ultrasound to assess the ovaries and uterus. This evaluation will help identify any underlying issues that may be contributing to your irregular cycles.

Additionally, if you have a history of irregular cycles or if this is a new development, it is essential to consider lifestyle factors. Stress management, maintaining a healthy weight, and regular exercise can significantly impact menstrual regularity. If you have recently experienced significant life changes or stressors, these could also be contributing factors.

In summary, while occasional irregularities in menstrual cycles can be normal, persistent changes warrant further investigation. It is advisable to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist to discuss your symptoms and undergo any necessary tests. Early intervention can help address any underlying issues and restore your menstrual cycle to a more regular pattern. Remember, your health is paramount, and seeking professional advice is always a prudent step when it comes to changes in your body.
