Injured while masturbating???
Hello, doctor.
I am a student.
I have noticed that for the past few months, after masturbation, I feel quite anxious because I have a vague pain on the left side of my bladder.
The area is approximately on the left side of the bladder, above the penis, and down near the scrotum.
Sometimes when I press on it, it hurts, but other times it doesn't hurt at all; I just feel a persistent dull ache (soreness) that feels like a muscle strain.
Everything seems normal when I go to the bathroom, and I am gentle during masturbation, but I do feel some uncomfortable muscle pulling sensations.
It's strange, and now when I masturbate, I can't help but think about whether I am better or not, living in a state of suspicion.
About a month ago, I visited a urologist, had an ultrasound, X-rays, blood tests, and urine tests, all of which were useful! But everything seemed normal, except for a small urinary stone.
The doctor advised me to drink more water.
Besides that, my white blood cell count was slightly elevated, but everything else was normal.
It's really strange.
Is this related to varicocele? Also, could you please tell me where the inguinal region is? Thank you!

Passerby A: Hello, there are many situations that can cause pain in this area.
It is most likely due to muscle soreness.
It could also be caused by prolonged erection leading to neuromuscular tension.
You can use a warm towel for local heat therapy, which should help.
The area referred to as the "Shu Gu" point is located just below the abdomen where it meets the thigh, specifically where the skin is indented.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again, and we can discuss and research further.

Testicular pain after masturbation can be a concerning issue, especially for young individuals who may not fully understand the underlying causes. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing discomfort in the left side of your bladder area, which radiates to the region above your penis and near your scrotum. This discomfort, described as a dull ache or a sensation similar to muscle strain, can be attributed to several potential causes.
Firstly, it is important to understand that the anatomy of the male reproductive system is complex. The testicles, epididymis, vas deferens, and surrounding structures can all contribute to sensations of pain or discomfort. The pain you are experiencing could be related to muscle strain or tension in the pelvic floor muscles, which can occur after sexual activity or masturbation. These muscles can become tense or overworked, leading to discomfort that may feel like a pulling or aching sensation.
Another possibility is that the pain could be related to the presence of urinary stones, as you mentioned that a small stone was detected during your ultrasound. While small stones may not always cause significant symptoms, they can lead to irritation or discomfort in the urinary tract, especially after activities that increase abdominal pressure, such as masturbation. It is advisable to follow your doctor's recommendation to increase fluid intake, as this can help flush out any small stones and reduce the likelihood of further discomfort.
Additionally, you mentioned the possibility of varicocele, which is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum. Varicoceles can sometimes cause discomfort or a feeling of heaviness in the testicles, particularly after prolonged periods of standing or physical activity. If you suspect that this may be related to your symptoms, it would be beneficial to discuss this with your urologist, who can perform a physical examination and possibly recommend further imaging studies if necessary.
Regarding your question about the groin area, the term "groin" typically refers to the area where the abdomen meets the thigh, and it includes the inguinal region. This area can be sensitive and is often involved in various types of pain, including those related to hernias, muscle strains, or nerve entrapments.
In summary, while your symptoms may be concerning, they are not uncommon and can often be attributed to muscle strain, urinary stones, or other benign conditions. It is essential to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider, especially if your symptoms persist or worsen. Keeping track of any changes in your symptoms, such as the intensity of pain or any new symptoms, can provide valuable information for your doctor. If you continue to experience discomfort, consider seeking a follow-up appointment with your urologist to explore further diagnostic options or treatment strategies. Remember, it is crucial to prioritize your health and well-being, and addressing these concerns with a medical professional is the best course of action.
