Glans issues

Hello, doctor! I apologize for asking you some questions.
I previously had phimosis, but I followed the advice to retract the foreskin.
However, when I had phimosis, I often didn't dry myself properly after urinating, which sometimes led to urine accumulating under the foreskin, causing some pain.
Now that I have retracted the foreskin, I notice that the glans has a prominent groove, and I'm not sure if it's due to urine irritation, as I now experience urine spraying in two streams, which feels strange.
Additionally, along the sides of the glans, there are small white bumps that resemble acne.
Sometimes I accidentally squeeze them because they can be itchy (though I'm not sure if this is caused by something else).
Please give me some advice, as I'm uncertain whether I should see a doctor.
Thank you!

Your description is very clear; it may be smegma.
If the discomfort persists, please seek medical attention for an examination.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding glans issues, including pain, irritation, and hygiene. It's important to address these matters, as they can significantly affect your comfort and overall health.

From what you've described, it sounds like you have experienced some complications related to phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) and possibly some irritation or infection due to retained urine. After retracting the foreskin, you mentioned noticing a significant groove or fissure on the glans, which could be a result of irritation from urine exposure, especially if hygiene practices were not optimal before the foreskin was retracted.
The presence of white, pimple-like spots along the shaft of the glans could be sebaceous cysts or pearly penile papules, which are generally harmless and common anatomical variations. However, if these spots are itchy, painful, or changing in appearance, it could indicate a dermatological condition or infection that may require medical attention.

Here are some recommendations for managing your symptoms:
1. Hygiene: Ensure that you maintain good hygiene by gently cleaning the area with warm water daily. Avoid using harsh soaps or irritants that could exacerbate the sensitivity of the glans.

2. Moisturization: If the glans appears dry or irritated, consider using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or emollient to soothe the area. This can help alleviate discomfort and promote healing.

3. Avoid Irritation: Be cautious about manipulating any spots or bumps on the glans, as squeezing can lead to inflammation or infection. If you feel the need to address these spots, it's best to consult a healthcare professional.

4. Monitor Symptoms: Keep an eye on any changes in the appearance of the glans or any new symptoms such as increased pain, discharge, or persistent itching. If these occur, it would be wise to seek medical advice.

5. Consult a Healthcare Provider: Given your history of phimosis and the current symptoms, it would be beneficial to consult a urologist or dermatologist. They can provide a thorough examination and determine if there are any underlying issues that need to be addressed, such as infections or skin conditions.

6. Avoid Self-Diagnosis: While it’s tempting to search for answers online, self-diagnosing can lead to unnecessary anxiety and misinformation. A healthcare professional can provide accurate diagnoses and treatment options tailored to your specific situation.

In summary, while some of your symptoms may be benign, it’s crucial to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any serious conditions and receive appropriate treatment. Taking proactive steps in hygiene and monitoring your symptoms will also contribute to your overall comfort and health. Don't hesitate to seek help; your well-being is important.
