I have a small question I'd like to ask?
Hello Doctor: After I masturbate, I usually become flaccid in about 1.2 minutes, and I lose my erection shortly after ejaculation.
I have never had any sexual experience, but I am worried that when I have a girlfriend in the future, I might also lose my erection quickly during intercourse.
So I would like to ask the doctor if this will happen when I actually engage in sexual activity.
When I am not erect, my foreskin covers the glans, and when I am erect, only half of the glans is exposed.
Do I need a circumcision? Additionally, when I masturbate, I often have to pause and then continue repeatedly for up to an hour.
Will this lead to issues like ejaculation disorders or premature ejaculation in the future? If so, what should I change? I hope the doctor can provide me with answers.
Thank you!

Erectile issues and concerns about premature ejaculation are common among young men, especially those who have limited sexual experience. Your concerns are valid, and it's important to address them with accurate information and guidance.
Firstly, it's essential to understand that experiencing erectile difficulties or premature ejaculation during masturbation does not necessarily predict the same outcomes during sexual intercourse. Many factors can influence erectile function, including anxiety, stress, and the level of arousal. Since you mentioned that you have not had sexual experience yet, it's possible that performance anxiety could play a significant role in your concerns. When you are in a new situation, such as being intimate with a partner, the pressure to perform can lead to anxiety, which may affect your ability to maintain an erection.
Regarding your question about the foreskin covering the glans (the head of the penis), this is a common anatomical variation. If the foreskin retracts adequately during an erection and does not cause discomfort or hygiene issues, circumcision may not be necessary. However, if you experience pain, difficulty retracting the foreskin, or recurrent infections, it might be worth discussing circumcision with a urologist.
Your practice of stopping and starting during masturbation is a technique some men use to prolong the experience and delay ejaculation. While this can be effective in the short term, it may not necessarily translate to improved control during intercourse. If you find that you are consistently ejaculating quickly, it may be beneficial to explore techniques to help manage this, such as pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises), which can strengthen the muscles involved in ejaculation and improve control.
If you are concerned about potential erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation in the future, consider the following steps:
1. Education and Awareness: Understanding your body and sexual function can alleviate anxiety. Many young men experience similar concerns, and knowing that these issues are common can help reduce pressure.
2. Practice Relaxation Techniques: Stress and anxiety can significantly impact sexual performance. Techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness, or even talking openly with a partner about your concerns can help.
3. Consult a Professional: If your concerns persist or worsen, consider speaking with a urologist or a sexual health professional. They can provide tailored advice and may suggest therapies or treatments that can help.
4. Healthy Lifestyle Choices: Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and avoiding excessive alcohol or substance use can improve overall sexual health.
5. Open Communication: If you enter a relationship, communicate openly with your partner about your concerns. A supportive partner can help alleviate anxiety and create a more relaxed environment.
In summary, while your current experiences may raise concerns about future sexual encounters, they do not definitively predict outcomes. Addressing anxiety, maintaining open communication, and seeking professional advice if needed can help you navigate these concerns effectively. Remember, sexual health is an important aspect of overall well-being, and seeking help is a positive step toward addressing any issues you may face.
