The glans seems unusual?
Hello doctor, about three days ago, I started to feel a sensation similar to fluid flowing inside the left side of the glans, and this sensation occurs intermittently.
However, there are no visible abnormalities on the glans, nor do I feel any pain.
Only during an erection does that area have a slight strange feeling.
Could this be an injury to the glans, or could there be other reasons? Thank you!

Hello! Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding the unusual sensations you're experiencing in the glans. Based on your description, it seems that you are feeling a sensation akin to liquid flowing within the left side of the glans, which occurs intermittently and is accompanied by a slight discomfort during erection. Importantly, you noted that there are no visible abnormalities or significant pain.
There are several potential causes for the sensations you are experiencing, and it is crucial to consider both physiological and psychological factors. Here are some possibilities:
1. Nerve Sensitivity or Irritation: The glans is highly sensitive due to a dense network of nerve endings. Sometimes, irritation or heightened sensitivity can lead to unusual sensations. This could be due to friction, tight clothing, or even a recent change in sexual activity.
2. Infection or Inflammation: While you mentioned that there are no visible abnormalities, it is still possible to have a mild infection or inflammation that may not present with overt symptoms. Conditions such as balanitis (inflammation of the glans) or a sexually transmitted infection (STI) could cause unusual sensations. It’s important to monitor for any changes, such as redness, swelling, or discharge.
3. Psychological Factors: Anxiety or stress can manifest physically in various ways, including unusual sensations in the genital area. If you have been experiencing increased stress or anxiety, this could contribute to the sensations you are feeling.
4. Peyronie's Disease: Although this condition typically presents with curvature of the penis during erection, it can also cause discomfort or unusual sensations. If you notice any changes in the shape of your penis or if the sensations worsen, it would be wise to consult a healthcare provider.
5. Vascular Issues: Sometimes, sensations in the genital area can be related to blood flow changes. If there are any vascular issues, they could lead to unusual sensations during erections.
Given that the sensation is not accompanied by significant pain or visible abnormalities, it may not be an urgent issue. However, it is essential to monitor the situation closely. If the sensations persist, worsen, or are accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, swelling, or discharge, it would be prudent to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination, possibly including a physical exam and laboratory tests, to rule out any underlying conditions.
In the meantime, consider keeping a diary of your symptoms, noting when they occur, their intensity, and any associated activities. This information can be helpful for your healthcare provider in determining the cause of your symptoms.
Lastly, if you have any concerns about sexual health or if you are experiencing anxiety related to these sensations, do not hesitate to discuss these with a healthcare professional. They can provide guidance and support tailored to your needs.
Take care, and I hope you find relief from your symptoms soon!
