Blisters on the inside of the lips?
I have a habit of biting my pillow, and every once in a while, small white spots (about 1mm in diameter) appear on the inside of my lips.
They look like tiny lymph nodes, but they are not painful, itchy, or prone to breaking.
They disappear after a few days.
I would like to know what the cause of this is and if I need to apply any medication.
It doesn't seem to have much impact, but I feel a bit concerned.

Understanding white bumps inside the lips can be a common concern, especially when they appear without pain or discomfort. Based on your description, it sounds like you are experiencing small white spots that resemble lymph nodes, which are typically harmless and may be related to a few different factors.
One possible cause for these white bumps could be mucoceles, which are fluid-filled cysts that can occur when a salivary gland is blocked or damaged. They often appear as small, painless bumps inside the mouth, including the lips, and can resolve on their own without treatment. Another possibility is that these bumps are a result of minor trauma or irritation from habits such as biting or sucking on the lips or cheeks, which can lead to localized inflammation and the formation of small white spots.
Additionally, these white spots could be related to oral conditions such as oral lichen planus or leukoplakia, but given that you mentioned they are not painful, itchy, or breaking open, it is less likely that these conditions are the cause. Oral lichen planus typically presents with white, lacy patches and can be associated with discomfort, while leukoplakia is characterized by thickened, white patches that can be precancerous.
In terms of treatment, if the bumps are not causing any discomfort and are resolving on their own, there may be no need for medication. Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential, and avoiding irritants such as spicy foods, tobacco, and alcohol can help prevent further irritation. If you find that the bumps persist, increase in size, or are accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, swelling, or difficulty eating, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional or dentist for a thorough examination.
In summary, while the white bumps you are experiencing are likely benign and related to minor irritation or mucoceles, it is always best to monitor any changes in your oral health. If you have concerns or if the condition worsens, seeking professional advice is the best course of action. Regular dental check-ups can also help in identifying any underlying issues early on, ensuring that your oral health remains in good condition.
