Pain in the glans after erection and lower back discomfort?
A month ago, after masturbating, I noticed a tingling sensation on the right side of my penis the next day.
I visited a urologist and underwent a urine test, which showed no signs of inflammation.
The doctor advised me not to overthink it, suggesting that it was just an abnormal sensation, and recommended that I rest more, prescribing anti-inflammatory medication.
I thought everything was fine until today when I looked at some provocative images and experienced an erection.
Afterward, without any touching, I felt a slight tingling and itching on the right side of the glans, but it wasn't very painful.
If I rub it, there is a mild pain, and I feel a tightness extending to my right lower back, which then becomes less noticeable.
However, I still feel a sensation of tightness on the right side of the glans.
Should I see a doctor again? It seems like the doctor thought I was just being overly anxious.
Should I wait and observe for a few more days?

Experiencing post-erection pain can be concerning, especially when it involves unusual sensations or discomfort in the genital area. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing a persistent tingling or mild pain on the right side of the glans (the head of the penis) after an erection, along with a sensation of tightness or discomfort that radiates to your right side. While your initial visit to a urologist did not reveal any signs of infection or inflammation, it is important to consider several factors before deciding whether to seek further medical advice.
First, it is crucial to understand that the genital area is highly sensitive, and various factors can contribute to discomfort or unusual sensations. These can include physical irritation, anxiety, or even psychological factors related to sexual arousal. The fact that your symptoms seem to be triggered by arousal suggests that there may be a connection between your physical sensations and your psychological state. However, it is essential to rule out any underlying medical conditions that could be contributing to your symptoms.
Given that you have already consulted a urologist and received anti-inflammatory medication, it may be beneficial to monitor your symptoms for a short period. If the discomfort persists or worsens, or if you begin to experience additional symptoms such as swelling, redness, or changes in urination, it would be wise to return to your healthcare provider for further evaluation. It is also important to communicate any new symptoms or changes in your condition, as this information can help your doctor make a more accurate diagnosis.
In addition to seeking medical advice, there are some self-care strategies you can consider to help alleviate discomfort. These include:
1. Rest and Avoidance: If certain activities, such as sexual arousal or masturbation, exacerbate your symptoms, it may be helpful to take a break from these activities to allow your body to recover.
2. Warm Compresses: Applying a warm compress to the affected area may help soothe discomfort and promote relaxation.
3. Hydration: Staying well-hydrated can help maintain overall urinary tract health.
4. Stress Management: Since anxiety can exacerbate physical symptoms, practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga may be beneficial.
5. Gentle Stretching: If you feel comfortable, gentle stretching of the pelvic area may help alleviate tension.
6. Avoid Irritants: Be mindful of any products that may irritate the genital area, such as certain soaps or lotions.
If you find that your symptoms do not improve or if they interfere with your daily life, it is essential to seek further medical evaluation. A different healthcare provider, such as a specialist in sexual medicine or a neurologist, may offer additional insights or treatment options.
In conclusion, while it is possible that your symptoms may resolve on their own, it is important to remain vigilant about any changes in your condition. If you continue to experience discomfort or if your symptoms worsen, do not hesitate to seek further medical advice. Your health and well-being are paramount, and it is always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to unexplained symptoms.
