Inquiry about the status of the letter?
Dear Doctor,
Last month, I sent you a letter and requested Dr.
Ding to reply to my email.
May I ask about the status? Has there been no response? I have not received a reply from Dr.
Ding in my email.

Hello, I haven't received anything! Alternatively, you can ask your questions here anonymously.
Additionally, this is a public platform where everyone can see the information, which contributes to the growth of knowledge and serves as a social good.
In private messages, physicians are not obligated to respond, which is a different matter! Sometimes during outpatient consultations, after spending time with patients answering questions and providing explanations, there may be no need to prescribe medication.
Patients are then asked to settle their bills, and some may find it strange that they have to pay even when no medication is prescribed.
It seems like chatting with the physician and spending their time has no value.
Personally, I believe this is one of the reasons why young people in Taiwan earn only 22k; when capitalists invest in equipment and materials, they can extract most of the profits from production and sales, while we hardworking employees are left with meager salaries.
People tend to think that visible factories, raw materials, and machines represent contributions, while the time and skills of workers are undervalued.
The professional training of physicians and their time are valuable as well.
However, the current health insurance system has made medical care seem cheap, where only the inexpensive pills and medications taken home are considered evidence of receiving care worth spending money on.
The professional explanations provided by healthcare personnel for half an hour to an hour are often undervalued compared to a patient taking home a medication that costs only a few cents or dollars.
The contributions of healthcare workers are not tangible, leading to the perception that they are merely supplementary, as if physicians, nurses, and pharmacists are like volunteers in a hospital.
The time and energy of physicians are also limited; they provide relief from suffering, not luxury items that enhance life satisfaction.
Therefore, I believe that healthcare is not a service industry.
This website is primarily a platform for asking questions and sharing medical knowledge, not a substitute for personal consultations.
I suggest that if you have questions that cannot be addressed here, you should make an appointment at a hospital to see a doctor for a private diagnosis.
Wishing you all the best, Dr.
Ding Shuo-Yan.
