Managing Pain and Irritation from Lede Mei Treatment: A Guide - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Using Lede Mei may cause redness, swelling, and stinging?

Hello, Doctor.
I have been using LedaMed for two weeks, but a few days ago, one side of my labia minora started to become red, swollen, and painful (it hurts to walk, sit, or urinate).
Due to the typhoon holiday and the weekend, I have been unable to contact the hospital for consultation.
Today is the day to apply the medication again, and I am unsure whether I should continue using it.
Additionally, the doctor prescribed vaginal suppositories, but I haven't used them in the past two days because inserting them is too painful due to the discomfort in my labia.
Should I continue with the suppositories? I understand that irritation is a side effect of LedaMed, and I would like to know if I can apply or take pain relief medication to alleviate these symptoms.
Thank you.

The possible change in inflammatory bacteria may indicate the presence of antibiotic resistance.
If there is no improvement with the current treatment, it is recommended to consult an obstetrics and gynecology hospital for a reevaluation and further medication.
Sincerely, Dr.

Managing pain and irritation from Lede Mei treatment can be challenging, especially when experiencing symptoms like redness, swelling, and pain in the labial area. It's essential to approach this situation with caution and informed guidance.

Firstly, it’s important to understand that Lede Mei (also known as Ledezma or similar formulations) can cause irritation as a side effect. This irritation may manifest as redness, swelling, or pain in sensitive areas, particularly if the treatment is applied too frequently or in excessive amounts. Given that you have been using the treatment for two weeks and are now experiencing these symptoms, it may be a sign that your body is reacting to the medication.

In terms of whether you should continue using the treatment, it is generally advisable to stop applying any medication that causes significant discomfort or adverse reactions until you can consult with your healthcare provider. Since you have been unable to reach your hospital for advice, consider the following steps:
1. Discontinue Use: If the irritation is severe, it may be best to stop using Lede Mei until you can speak with a healthcare professional. Continuing to use a product that causes pain can exacerbate the irritation and lead to further complications.

2. Pain Relief Options: For immediate relief from pain and irritation, you may consider over-the-counter pain relief medications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin). These can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain. However, always follow the recommended dosages on the packaging and consult with a healthcare provider if you have any underlying health conditions or are taking other medications.

3. Topical Treatments: Depending on the severity of the irritation, a topical hydrocortisone cream (1%) may help reduce inflammation and soothe the area. However, avoid applying any creams or ointments without consulting a healthcare provider, as some products may worsen the irritation.

4. Avoid Irritants: While experiencing these symptoms, it’s wise to avoid any additional irritants. This includes scented soaps, lotions, or any other products that may come into contact with the affected area. Opt for gentle, unscented products to minimize further irritation.

5. Consider the Vaginal Tablets: Regarding the vaginal tablets (速淨陰道錠), if inserting them is causing significant pain, it’s advisable to refrain from using them until the irritation subsides. You can discuss alternative methods of treatment or different formulations with your healthcare provider once you are able to consult them.

6. Hydration and Rest: Ensure you stay hydrated and allow your body to rest. Sometimes, symptoms can improve with time and self-care.

7. Follow-Up: As soon as you can, reach out to your healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms. They may want to examine the area to rule out any infections or other complications that may require different treatment.

In summary, while Lede Mei can be effective for certain conditions, its side effects can lead to discomfort. Discontinuing use, managing pain with over-the-counter medications, and consulting with a healthcare provider are crucial steps to take in managing your symptoms effectively. Your health and comfort should always come first, and professional guidance is essential in navigating treatment options.
