Hello, doctor?

Hello doctor, I have developed several bumps on my palm, around 8 or 9 of them.
After seeing a doctor, I found out that they are viral warts, and I have undergone cryotherapy.

Question 1: If I play cards with others, can they get infected? They keep asking me, so I can only consult you.

Question 2: Regarding the genital area, after having this condition on my hands, can a male still engage in self-pleasure?
Question 3: The blisters from the cryotherapy are preventing me from working.
Can boosting my immune system cure this virus?

Hello: 1.
The transmissibility of human papillomavirus (HPV) is not very strong; it may require specific areas of the skin to be susceptible to invasion, and the infected individual's immune system must not be able to eliminate the virus in time.
However, there is still a possibility of transmission, so it's advisable for friends to be cautious.
2.
It is recommended to treat hand warts as soon as possible to prevent transmission to other parts of the body.
3.
If the blister formed after cryotherapy is too large, you can return for a follow-up visit to drain the contents of the blister.
Enhancing immunity can help eliminate the virus.
Thank you!

More Info

Viral warts, also known as verrucae, are benign growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear on various parts of the body, including the hands, feet, and genital areas. Understanding the transmission, treatment options, and ways to boost the immune system can help manage and potentially reduce the occurrence of these warts.

Transmission of Viral Warts
Viral warts are contagious and can be transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected person or indirectly through surfaces that have been contaminated with the virus. For example, if you have warts on your hands and you touch a surface that someone else touches, the virus can spread. In your case, playing cards with others could pose a risk of transmission, especially if you have active warts on your hands. It is advisable to avoid close contact and sharing personal items, such as towels or razors, to minimize the risk of spreading the virus to others.

Treatment Options
You mentioned that you have undergone cryotherapy (freezing treatment) for your warts. This is a common and effective method for removing warts, as it destroys the wart tissue and stimulates the immune response. Other treatment options include:
1. Topical Treatments: Over-the-counter products containing salicylic acid can help peel away the wart gradually. Prescription treatments may include stronger acids or immune-modulating agents.

2. Laser Therapy: This method uses focused light to destroy the wart tissue.

3. Electrosurgery: This technique involves burning the wart with an electric current.

4. Immunotherapy: This approach aims to boost the immune response against the virus, which may involve topical applications or injections.

It's important to follow up with your healthcare provider to determine the best course of action if the warts persist or if you experience discomfort from the treatment.

Immune System and Warts
Regarding your question about boosting the immune system to help eliminate the virus, while a strong immune system can help control the spread of HPV and reduce the likelihood of new warts forming, it may not completely eradicate the virus from your body. Here are some ways to support your immune system:
1. Nutrition: A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can provide essential nutrients that support immune function.

2. Hydration: Drinking plenty of water helps maintain overall health and supports immune function.

3. Exercise: Regular physical activity can enhance immune response and overall well-being.

4. Sleep: Adequate sleep is crucial for a healthy immune system. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.

5. Stress Management: Chronic stress can weaken the immune system, so practices like mindfulness, meditation, or yoga can be beneficial.

Personal Concerns
Regarding your question about self-pleasure with the presence of warts, it is generally advisable to avoid any activities that may irritate the warts or lead to further spread of the virus. If you have warts in the genital area, it is best to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice.

In conclusion, while viral warts can be bothersome and contagious, understanding their transmission, exploring treatment options, and supporting your immune system can help manage the condition effectively. If you have further concerns or if the warts do not improve, please consult your healthcare provider for additional guidance and treatment options.
