Pimple on the urethral opening?

Hello, recently I have developed a red bump at the urethral opening that continuously produces pus but has no odor.
It seems to be caused by the bump rather than coming from the urethra.
My foreskin is retracted, and for the past few days, I have been cleaning it regularly and squeezing the bump to drain it, but pus keeps reappearing.
Additionally, urination is very painful when passing over the bump.
I had unprotected sexual intercourse before the bump appeared.
What symptoms does this resemble?

Hello, it's difficult to determine; it could be a bacterial infection or simply folliculitis or sebaceous gland inflammation.
I recommend seeking medical attention for bacterial culture and appropriate treatment.

The appearance of a red bump at the urethral opening, especially one that produces pus and is painful during urination, can be concerning and may indicate several potential conditions. Given your history of unprotected sexual activity, it is essential to consider sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as a possible cause.
One common condition that could present with these symptoms is a urethral infection or inflammation, which can occur due to various factors, including STIs like gonorrhea or chlamydia. These infections can lead to urethritis, characterized by symptoms such as pain during urination, discharge from the urethra, and sometimes the formation of bumps or lesions around the urethral opening.

Another possibility is a condition known as a urethral cyst or a sebaceous cyst. These cysts can form due to blocked glands and may become inflamed or infected, leading to pus formation. While these cysts are generally benign, they can cause discomfort and may require medical evaluation if they become recurrent or symptomatic.

Additionally, the presence of a painful red bump could also suggest a condition like herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, which can cause painful sores or blisters around the genital area. If you have had unprotected sexual encounters, it is crucial to consider this possibility and seek appropriate testing.

Given the symptoms you described, it is highly advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough examination. A healthcare provider may perform a physical examination, take a detailed sexual history, and possibly conduct tests such as a urine analysis, swabs from the urethral area, or blood tests to identify any underlying infections or conditions.

In the meantime, it is essential to avoid manipulating the bump further, as squeezing or attempting to drain it can lead to additional irritation or infection. Keeping the area clean and dry is important, but avoid harsh soaps or irritants that could exacerbate the condition.

If you experience any worsening symptoms, such as increased pain, fever, or the development of additional lesions, seek medical attention promptly. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial in managing any potential infections and preventing complications.

In summary, the red bump at the urethral opening could be due to several causes, including urethritis, cysts, or STIs. Given your recent sexual history, it is vital to seek medical evaluation to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate treatment.
