Mild pain after erection?

Hello Doctor, the title is actually not entirely correct.
To be precise, after an erection, I can apply force to make the erect penis move upwards (I apologize for not being able to describe this action well).
The force applied is not from an external source (like my hand).
In the past, this would not cause any pain and was quite comfortable, but recently, whenever I do this, I experience some pain on the upper left side of the penis.
Sometimes, even without an erection, there is a slight discomfort (which is milder than the aforementioned pain).
I feel like it might be related to the blood vessels, but I'm not sure.
So I would like to ask the doctor: 1.
What exactly are these symptoms? 2.
Do I need to go to the hospital for this? 3.
Can I still masturbate with this condition? (I won’t apply excessive force or overdo it, just normal masturbation.) 4.
Will this condition heal on its own? Thank you, Doctor, for answering these four questions!

To those seeking recovery: Hello! 1.
This is caused by muscle contractions near the penis.
2.
If you feel uncomfortable, it is advisable to seek medical attention.
3.
If the pain does not worsen due to masturbation, then it is not a concern.
4.
It is important to identify the underlying factors.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again for further discussion and research.
Responses on the internet should only be used as a reference; if necessary, it is best to visit a medical facility.

Understanding post-erection pain can be a complex issue, as it may stem from various causes, including physiological, psychological, or even anatomical factors. Let's break down your concerns and questions one by one.

1. What could be causing this symptom?
The pain you're experiencing on the upper left side of the penis during or after an erection could be attributed to several factors. One possibility is that you may be experiencing a condition known as "penile hypersensitivity," where the nerves in the area become overly sensitive. Another potential cause could be related to the blood vessels or tissues in the penis, such as a minor injury or strain, especially if you've recently engaged in more vigorous sexual activity. Conditions like Peyronie's disease, which involves the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis, can also lead to pain during erections. Additionally, if there is any inflammation or infection in the area, it could contribute to discomfort.
2. Should you see a doctor?
Given that this is a new symptom for you and it has caused discomfort, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional, preferably a urologist. They can perform a thorough examination and may recommend tests, such as an ultrasound, to assess blood flow and check for any abnormalities. Early intervention can help prevent potential complications and provide peace of mind.

3. Is it safe to masturbate?
If you are experiencing mild discomfort, it is generally advisable to be cautious with any sexual activity, including masturbation. If you can engage in it without causing significant pain or discomfort, it may be acceptable. However, it’s essential to listen to your body. If you notice that masturbation exacerbates the pain, it would be best to refrain from it until you have consulted with a healthcare professional.

4. Will this condition heal on its own?
The prognosis for post-erection pain largely depends on the underlying cause. If it is due to a minor strain or temporary hypersensitivity, it may resolve on its own with time and rest. However, if there is an underlying condition such as Peyronie's disease or an infection, it may require medical treatment. Therefore, it is crucial to seek medical advice to determine the exact cause and appropriate treatment.

In addition to the above points, it is essential to consider lifestyle factors that may contribute to your symptoms. Stress, anxiety, and fatigue can all play a role in sexual health and may exacerbate discomfort. Engaging in relaxation techniques, ensuring adequate rest, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be beneficial.

In conclusion, while occasional discomfort may not be a cause for alarm, persistent or worsening symptoms warrant a professional evaluation. A urologist can provide tailored advice and treatment options based on your specific situation. Remember, maintaining open communication with your healthcare provider is key to addressing any concerns regarding your sexual health.
