There is a growth in the genital area that I am unsure about?

I am a male, and about three months ago, I noticed a small growth on my penis.
I'm not sure whether to call it a pimple or a wart.
Recently, it has been growing larger, and it becomes very painful whenever my pants rub against it or when I sit down.
What should I do in this situation? I live in Taoyuan, and the nearest hospital is Taoyuan General Hospital.

Without actually seeing the lesion, it cannot be confirmed.
It is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

When it comes to unidentified growths on the male genitalia, it is crucial to approach the situation with caution and seek medical advice promptly. Based on your description, it sounds like you may be experiencing a growth that could be a variety of things, including a pimple, a wart (possibly genital warts caused by the human papillomavirus), or another type of lesion. The fact that it has grown larger and is causing pain when pressure is applied is particularly concerning and warrants further investigation.

Firstly, it is essential to understand that any new growth or change in the genital area should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. This is important not only for your physical health but also for your peace of mind. Conditions affecting the genital area can range from benign (non-cancerous) issues like cysts or folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) to more serious conditions such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or other dermatological issues.

Given that you mentioned the growth has been painful, this could indicate inflammation or infection. Pain is often a sign that the body is reacting to something that may require treatment. For example, if it is a pimple or an ingrown hair, it may need to be treated with topical medications or, in some cases, drainage. If it is a wart, treatment options may include topical treatments, cryotherapy (freezing), or other methods depending on the size and type of wart.

In your case, since you live near Taoyuan Hospital, I recommend scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist or a urologist. They will be able to perform a physical examination and possibly conduct tests to determine the nature of the growth. They may also ask about any other symptoms you might be experiencing, such as itching, discharge, or changes in urination, which can provide additional clues to the diagnosis.

It is also important to be open and honest with your healthcare provider about your symptoms and any concerns you may have regarding sexual health. They are there to help you and can provide you with the necessary information and treatment options. Remember, early diagnosis and treatment can often lead to better outcomes, so do not hesitate to seek help.

In summary, while it is natural to feel anxious about changes in your body, especially in sensitive areas, the best course of action is to consult a medical professional. They can provide you with a proper diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. Take care of your health, and do not ignore symptoms that cause you discomfort or concern.
