Secretions issues
Last month, I had a discharge with blood from January 19 to February 5, which was thick.
On February 8, the discharge had a slight yellow-green color, but it was not much and did not cause itching.
(I had treatment for the discharge issue last month, where the yellow-green discharge typically causes itching.
I took medication for 5 days, and the symptoms did not appear again, after which my menstrual period started.) Am I experiencing an infection again? I was treated in December and January, and now the symptoms have returned.
Could it be antibiotic resistance? (P.S.
I have no sexual experience, so there was no internal examination, only a consultation.)

Abnormal discharge in women can be a source of concern and confusion, especially when accompanied by changes in color, consistency, or the presence of blood. Based on your description, it appears that you have experienced a series of changes in your discharge over the past few months, including thick, blood-tinged discharge and yellow-green discharge without itching. Given your history of treatment for discharge issues, it is understandable that you are worried about the possibility of an infection or antibiotic resistance.
Firstly, it is important to recognize that abnormal vaginal discharge can arise from various causes, including infections, hormonal changes, or even physical factors such as stress or changes in lifestyle. Infections are a common cause of abnormal discharge, and they can be caused by bacteria, yeast, or sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The yellow-green discharge you mentioned could indicate a bacterial infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or trichomoniasis, especially if it has a foul odor. However, the absence of itching may suggest that a yeast infection is less likely.
The presence of blood in your discharge can be particularly concerning. It may be related to your menstrual cycle, especially if it occurs around the time of ovulation or menstruation. However, if the bleeding is unusual or persistent, it is essential to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation. In some cases, hormonal imbalances can lead to irregular bleeding and changes in discharge.
Regarding your concern about antibiotic resistance, it is possible for certain infections to become resistant to treatment if antibiotics are overused or not taken as prescribed. If you have been treated for an infection in the past and the symptoms have returned, it may indicate that the initial treatment was not fully effective or that a different infection has developed. It is crucial to communicate your treatment history to your healthcare provider, who may recommend further testing, such as a vaginal swab or culture, to identify the specific cause of your symptoms.
In your case, since you mentioned that you have not had sexual intercourse, the likelihood of STIs is reduced, but it does not completely rule out the possibility of other infections. Additionally, hormonal fluctuations, particularly if you have irregular menstrual cycles, can also contribute to changes in discharge and bleeding patterns.
To address your concerns effectively, I recommend scheduling an appointment with a gynecologist or a healthcare provider specializing in women's health. They can perform a thorough examination, including a pelvic exam if necessary, and conduct any relevant tests to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms. Based on the findings, they can provide appropriate treatment options, which may include antibiotics, hormonal therapy, or lifestyle modifications.
In summary, abnormal discharge can result from various factors, including infections, hormonal changes, or other medical conditions. Given your recent history of treatment and the recurrence of symptoms, it is essential to seek professional medical advice for accurate diagnosis and management. Early intervention can help prevent complications and ensure your overall reproductive health.
