There is a persistent dull ache in the lower left abdomen?
I would like to ask the doctor about a sensation I have been experiencing in my left lower abdomen and around the pubic bone.
It has been ongoing for a while; although it is not painful, it feels somewhat strange, almost like an itch.
I notice this sensation during ejaculation as well, and sometimes it extends to my epididymis.
I am concerned that it might be due to chronic inflammation.
I have read a lot of information and wonder if it could be related to seminal vesiculitis or epididymitis.
However, I am also worried that I might be overreacting and wasting resources by seeking medical attention.
Since this has been going on for several months and I didn't feel this way before, do you think I should get it checked out, doctor?

Persistent discomfort in the left lower abdomen can be concerning, especially when it has lasted for several months. While it may not be painful, the sensation you describe—similar to itching or discomfort during ejaculation—could indicate an underlying issue that warrants further investigation.
Given your symptoms, there are several potential causes to consider. One possibility is a condition related to the reproductive system, such as epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis) or seminal vesiculitis (inflammation of the seminal vesicles). Both conditions can cause discomfort in the lower abdomen and may present with sensations that radiate to the testicles or groin area. Chronic inflammation in these areas can lead to persistent discomfort, and it is important to rule out infections or other underlying issues.
Another possibility is a gastrointestinal issue. Conditions such as diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or even hernias can cause discomfort in the lower abdomen. If there are changes in bowel habits, such as constipation or diarrhea, it may be worth discussing these symptoms with a healthcare provider.
Additionally, musculoskeletal issues can also manifest as discomfort in the abdominal area. Strain or injury to the muscles or ligaments in the lower abdomen can lead to sensations that may feel unusual but are not necessarily indicative of a serious condition.
Given that your symptoms have persisted for several months, it is advisable to seek medical advice. While it is understandable to be concerned about wasting resources, it is better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough evaluation, which may include a physical examination, imaging studies (such as an ultrasound or CT scan), and possibly laboratory tests to assess for infection or inflammation.
In summary, while your symptoms may not seem severe, the duration and nature of the discomfort suggest that it would be prudent to seek medical evaluation. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent potential complications and provide peace of mind. If you are concerned about specific conditions like epididymitis or seminal vesiculitis, be sure to mention these to your healthcare provider during your visit. They can guide you through the appropriate diagnostic process and help determine the best course of action for your situation.
