Low back pain, constipation, frequent urination, black or dark red stools?
Recently, I have been experiencing frequent urination about half an hour after drinking water.
The urine color is clear or light yellow, and I seem to be urinating as much as I drink.
I also have a slight pain in the lower back.
After consuming dairy products, my urine has a lot of bubbles, and I sometimes experience constipation.
Occasionally, my stool appears dark red or black, and I feel some pain in the lower abdomen, below the navel, before having a bowel movement.
Could you please advise me on what might be wrong?

More Info
Your symptoms of frequent urination, lower back pain, and digestive issues are concerning and may indicate several underlying health conditions that require further evaluation. Let's break down your symptoms and explore potential causes.
1. Frequent Urination: The fact that you are experiencing frequent urination shortly after drinking water, with urine appearing clear or light yellow, suggests that your kidneys are functioning well in terms of filtering and excreting fluids. However, frequent urination can be caused by several factors, including urinary tract infections (UTIs), diabetes mellitus, or bladder irritability. Given that you mentioned the urgency and frequency, it might be worth considering whether you have an overactive bladder or a urinary tract infection, especially if you experience any burning sensation during urination.
2. Lower Back Pain: The mild pain in your lower back could be related to several issues. It might be musculoskeletal in nature, possibly due to posture or strain. However, it could also indicate a kidney issue, especially if it is accompanied by urinary symptoms. Conditions such as pyelonephritis (a kidney infection) or nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) could present with back pain and urinary changes. If the pain worsens or is accompanied by fever, chills, or nausea, it is essential to seek medical attention promptly.
3. Digestive Issues: The digestive symptoms you describe, including constipation and dark or red stools, are particularly concerning. Dark or red stools can indicate gastrointestinal bleeding, which could stem from various sources, including hemorrhoids, diverticulosis, or more serious conditions like peptic ulcers or malignancies. The pain you feel in your lower abdomen before a bowel movement could suggest a blockage or irritation in the intestines.
4. Dietary Factors: You mentioned that after consuming dairy products, you notice a lot of bubbles in your urine. This could be due to the presence of protein in your urine, which can occur in conditions affecting kidney function. If your body is not processing dairy well, it could also lead to digestive discomfort, including bloating or constipation.
Given the complexity of your symptoms, it is crucial to consult a healthcare provider for a comprehensive evaluation. They may recommend several diagnostic tests, including:
- Urinalysis: To check for signs of infection, blood, or protein in the urine.
- Blood tests: To assess kidney function, blood sugar levels, and overall health.
- Imaging studies: Such as an ultrasound or CT scan, to visualize the kidneys and urinary tract.
- Endoscopy: If gastrointestinal bleeding is suspected, a gastroenterologist may perform an endoscopy to examine the digestive tract.
In the meantime, ensure you stay well-hydrated, monitor your symptoms closely, and avoid any foods that seem to exacerbate your digestive issues. If you experience severe pain, fever, or significant changes in your urinary or bowel habits, seek medical attention immediately.
In summary, your symptoms could be indicative of multiple health issues, and a thorough medical evaluation is necessary to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment. Do not hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for assistance.
