Should I continue applying Meikang?

Recently, I had inflammation and ulceration of the glans, but it improved later.
During my follow-up visit, the doctor prescribed me a medication called Meikang ointment to apply.
Initially, it worked quite well, but two days ago, I noticed red spots, and it hurts when I touch the glans.
Today, while applying the ointment, I observed that the condition seems to be worsening.
Should I continue using Meikang ointment?

When it comes to using Meikang Cream (MYCOMB CREAM) for your urology issue, particularly for inflammation and irritation of the glans (the head of the penis), it’s essential to approach the situation with caution. While this cream can be effective for treating conditions like eczema, allergic reactions, and secondary infections, it contains a low-dose steroid, which can have side effects, especially with prolonged use.

Given your recent experience where the initial improvement was followed by the emergence of red spots and pain, it’s crucial to reassess your treatment plan. The appearance of new symptoms, especially if they are worsening, suggests that the cream may not be the best option for you at this time. Here are some considerations:
1. Potential Side Effects: Long-term use of topical steroids, even in low doses, can lead to skin thinning, increased sensitivity, and potential worsening of the condition being treated. In your case, the red spots and pain could indicate irritation or an adverse reaction to the cream.

2. Consult Your Doctor: It is highly advisable to return to your healthcare provider for a follow-up appointment. They can evaluate the current state of your condition and determine whether the Meikang Cream is still appropriate for you. They may suggest alternative treatments or additional diagnostic tests to rule out other underlying issues.

3. Alternative Treatments: Depending on the diagnosis, your doctor might recommend other topical treatments that do not contain steroids or suggest a different class of medication altogether. For example, antifungal treatments may be more appropriate if a fungal infection is suspected.

4. Skin Care Practices: In addition to medication, consider discussing proper hygiene practices and skin care routines with your doctor. Keeping the area clean and dry can help prevent further irritation and promote healing.

5. Monitoring Symptoms: Keep a close eye on your symptoms. If you notice any worsening or new symptoms, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge, seek medical attention promptly.

In summary, while Meikang Cream may have initially provided relief, the recent development of new symptoms warrants a reevaluation of your treatment. Do not continue using the cream without consulting your healthcare provider, as they can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation. Remember, effective treatment often requires a tailored approach, and your health and comfort should always come first.
