What are the symptoms of cauliflower?
Hello doctor, I have never undergone a circumcision.
I have noticed for quite some time (at least over a year) that when I retract my foreskin to expose the glans, there are small, grain-like bumps at the lower edge of the foreskin.
As shown in the image https://imgur.com/a/yymkp, could you please tell me if this is genital warts or something else? Thank you, doctor.

Patients are advised to visit the clinic for an in-person examination by a physician, as online consultations cannot replace the need for a personal medical history assessment and physical examination.
In the presence of illness, it is still recommended to seek care at a medical facility.

More Info
Pearly penile papules (PPP) are small, benign growths that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head of the penis). They are often mistaken for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as genital warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). However, it is important to clarify that pearly penile papules are not caused by HPV and are not contagious. They are a normal anatomical variation and are considered a harmless condition.
PPP usually presents as small, dome-shaped, white or skin-colored papules that are arranged in one or more rows around the glans. They are typically asymptomatic, meaning they do not cause pain, itching, or discomfort. The presence of these papules is common and can be found in a significant percentage of men, often without any associated health concerns.
In contrast, genital warts, which are caused by certain strains of HPV, may appear as raised, cauliflower-like lesions and can be itchy or uncomfortable. They can also be transmitted through sexual contact, which is not the case with pearly penile papules. If you have not engaged in sexual activity since your last HPV test and have not been diagnosed with any STIs, the likelihood that your symptoms are related to HPV is low.
If you are concerned about the appearance of these growths, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional, such as a urologist or dermatologist, who can provide a proper diagnosis. They may perform a visual examination and, if necessary, a biopsy to rule out other conditions. If it is confirmed that these are indeed pearly penile papules, no treatment is required, as they do not pose any health risks.
In summary, pearly penile papules are a normal variant and not an indication of HPV infection or any other sexually transmitted disease. If you have any doubts or if the appearance of the papules changes, it is always best to seek medical advice for peace of mind and to ensure that you are informed about your health. Regular check-ups and open communication with your healthcare provider can help address any concerns you may have regarding your sexual health.
