Testicular issues and masturbation?
Hello doctor, I am 19 years old.
I currently masturbate about 2-3 times a week.
However, yesterday during masturbation, I felt a slight aching sensation in my left testicle, as if it was being pulled.
After I finished, I still felt a bit of aching in my left testicle (but it’s not very painful).
What could this be? I am a bit worried.
I also do not smoke or drink alcohol.

If the pain is not persistent, it may be related to traction pain caused by autonomic nervous system excitation.
If the pain persists, it is advisable to consult a urologist to check for issues such as testicular inflammation.

Testicular discomfort after masturbation can be a common concern among young men, and it is important to understand the potential causes and when to seek medical advice. At 19 years old, experiencing mild discomfort in the left testicle after masturbation is not uncommon, and there are several factors that could contribute to this sensation.
Firstly, the testicles are sensitive organs that can experience discomfort due to various reasons, including physical strain, hormonal changes, or even anxiety related to sexual activity. When you engage in masturbation, the muscles in the pelvic area can contract, which may lead to temporary discomfort or a sensation of pulling in the testicles. This is often referred to as "testicular strain" and is usually not a cause for concern if the discomfort is mild and temporary.
Another possible explanation for the discomfort could be related to epididymitis, which is the inflammation of the epididymis, the tube that stores and carries sperm. This condition can cause pain and swelling in the testicle and may be associated with sexual activity. However, epididymitis is often accompanied by other symptoms such as swelling, redness, or a fever, which you have not mentioned.
In some cases, testicular torsion, a serious condition where the spermatic cord becomes twisted, can cause severe pain and requires immediate medical attention. However, this typically presents with intense pain rather than mild discomfort. Since you mentioned that the pain is not severe and does not persist, it is less likely to be torsion.
Additionally, it is worth considering that anxiety or stress related to sexual performance or health can manifest as physical symptoms, including discomfort in the testicles. If you find that your anxiety about this discomfort is affecting your daily life, it may be beneficial to speak with a healthcare professional or a counselor.
If the discomfort persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as swelling, redness, fever, or changes in urination, it is crucial to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a physical examination and may recommend an ultrasound or other tests to rule out any underlying conditions.
In summary, mild testicular discomfort after masturbation can be a common occurrence and is often not a cause for concern. However, it is essential to monitor your symptoms and seek medical advice if the discomfort persists or worsens. Maintaining open communication with a healthcare provider about any concerns regarding your sexual health is important for your overall well-being.
