Erectile dysfunction
Is it normal to have no erection angle? I've been like this since childhood; it seems that most people have at least a 90-degree angle, but mine only becomes larger and harder while slightly bending downwards, and it remains in a downward position.
I don't have much memory of nocturnal emissions or morning erections (not sure).
The erection does have firmness, and I feel that masturbation isn't an issue.
Is this a medical concern? I remember when I was younger, it often rested in a normal downward position, and there was minimal rubbing against the floor—could this be related to the situation?

Hello: Everyone is different, and most variations are normal.
It is advisable to have a check-up with a urologist at the hospital.

Understanding the normal and abnormal angles of erection is an important aspect of male sexual health. The angle at which the penis erects can vary significantly among individuals, and there is a range of what is considered normal. Typically, a full erection is expected to be at least 90 degrees from the body, but many men may experience different angles due to various factors, including anatomical differences, hormonal levels, and psychological factors.
In your case, you mentioned that your penis becomes larger and harder but maintains a slight downward curve when erect. This is not necessarily abnormal. Many men have a natural curvature of the penis, which can be upward, downward, or to the side. As long as this curvature does not cause pain or interfere with sexual function, it is generally considered normal.
The absence of nocturnal penile tumescence (morning erections) or dreams involving erections, while it may raise some concerns, is not in itself a definitive indicator of a medical issue. Some men may experience fewer or no morning erections due to various factors, including age, hormonal levels, stress, or sleep quality. If you are able to achieve an erection and engage in sexual activity without issues, this is a positive sign of erectile function.
Regarding your childhood experience of the penis resting against the floor, this could simply be a result of your body’s natural positioning and flexibility. It is not uncommon for boys and young men to have different resting positions of the penis, and this can change as they grow older and their bodies develop.
If you are experiencing any discomfort, pain, or significant changes in your erectile function, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional. They can perform a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and possibly hormonal testing, to ensure that everything is functioning normally.
It is also worth noting that psychological factors can play a significant role in sexual health. Anxiety, stress, and self-consciousness about one’s body can affect sexual performance and perception. If you find that your concerns about your erection angle are causing you distress, speaking with a mental health professional or a sex therapist may also be beneficial.
In summary, while the angle of erection can vary widely among individuals, what is most important is whether you are able to achieve and maintain an erection that allows for satisfactory sexual activity. If you have any concerns or if your situation changes, do not hesitate to seek medical advice. Regular check-ups and open discussions with healthcare providers can help maintain your sexual health and address any issues that may arise.
