Does the presence of pearly penile papules on the glans affect sexual pleasure?

In the past, after masturbation, I would experience a pleasurable sensation.
However, ever since I developed pearly penile papules on the glans, I no longer feel that pleasure after masturbating or having intercourse with my girlfriend.
Now, regardless of whether I am with my girlfriend or after masturbation, the glans feels hot and somewhat painful (which subsides after a while), leading to a decrease in my interest in sexual activity.
Could this be related to the pearly penile papules?

Chen, 20~29 year old female. Ask Date: 2017/07/22

Hello: Pearly penile papules are unlikely, but are you sure it is pearly penile papules? If you have not been examined by a urologist, you should seek medical attention.
Wishing you good health.

More Info

Pearly Penile Papules (PPP) are small, benign growths that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head) of the penis. They are a common anatomical variant and are not considered a sexually transmitted infection (STI) or a disease. While they are harmless and do not require treatment, many individuals may have concerns about their appearance and potential impact on sexual function and pleasure.

Regarding your question about whether PPP affects sexual pleasure and sensation, it is important to understand that the presence of these papules themselves does not directly interfere with sexual pleasure. However, psychological factors can play a significant role in sexual experiences. If you are feeling anxious or self-conscious about the appearance of PPP, this could lead to decreased sexual pleasure or arousal. Anxiety and stress can affect libido and overall sexual satisfaction, potentially leading to a cycle where the worry about PPP diminishes your enjoyment of sexual activities.

The sensations you describe, such as heat and mild pain after sexual activity or masturbation, may not be directly caused by the presence of PPP. Instead, they could be related to friction, sensitivity, or even an irritation of the skin. If you are engaging in vigorous sexual activity or masturbation, it is possible that the friction could lead to temporary discomfort. Additionally, if you are experiencing anxiety or stress related to your sexual health, this could also manifest as physical sensations of discomfort.

If you notice persistent pain, discomfort, or any changes in your sexual function, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional. They can perform a physical examination to rule out any other underlying conditions that may be contributing to your symptoms. It is also essential to communicate openly with your partner about any concerns you have regarding your sexual experiences. This can help alleviate anxiety and improve intimacy.

In summary, while Pearly Penile Papules themselves do not directly affect sexual pleasure, the psychological impact of their presence can influence your sexual experiences. If you are experiencing discomfort or changes in sensation, it is important to seek medical advice to ensure there are no other underlying issues. Remember that sexual health is an integral part of overall well-being, and addressing any concerns with a healthcare provider can help you regain confidence and enjoyment in your sexual life.
