Numbness of the glans?
Hello doctor, I would like to ask a few questions.
Recently, after masturbating, I feel a tingling sensation in my glans.
I usually engage in sexual activities and also masturbate, but it seems that the tingling occurs only after masturbation and does not last more than an hour.
Sometimes I stand all day at work, and other times I sit all day (but I do get up and move around).
I don’t ride my bike very often.
For my second question, the area where my testicles connect to my penis has hair follicles that are raised, resembling goosebumps.
Sometimes it itches, and scratching it also causes itching, but after a while, the itching goes away.
For my third question, I want to know why my penis seems to be smaller than average.
I have been overweight since childhood, and even when erect, it is below average.
Is this due to my weight? If I lose weight, will it improve?
For my fourth question, is it necessary to circumcise? My penis is covered when erect, and I have to push it back to uncover it.
I apologize for having so many questions, and I appreciate your help.

Hello: 1.
It is likely due to poor vascular circulation.
2.
The hair follicles at the junction of my scrotum and penis are raised, resembling goosebumps—this is quite common and can also be itchy.
3.
Losing weight may improve the appearance.
4.
Medically, your condition does not require treatment; just maintain cleanliness.
Wishing you good health.

Understanding sensitivity and skin issues in male urology can be quite complex, especially when considering the various factors that can contribute to discomfort, irritation, and changes in skin texture in the genital area. Based on your concerns, let's address each of your questions systematically.
1. Sensitivity and Numbness After Masturbation: The sensation of numbness or tingling in the glans (head of the penis) after masturbation can be attributed to several factors. During sexual arousal and orgasm, blood flow to the penis increases significantly, which can lead to temporary changes in sensation. If this numbness lasts only for a short period (less than an hour), it is likely a normal physiological response. However, if you experience persistent numbness or pain, it may be worth consulting a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying issues, such as nerve compression or circulatory problems.
2. Bumps and Itching on the Skin: The presence of small, raised bumps that resemble "chicken skin" on the skin of the scrotum and the area where the penis connects to the scrotum could be a condition known as folliculitis, which is inflammation of the hair follicles. This can occur due to irritation, friction, or infection. Itching can also be a sign of a skin condition like eczema or an allergic reaction. If the itching is bothersome or if you notice any changes in the appearance of the skin, it is advisable to see a dermatologist or urologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
3. Concerns About Penis Size and Weight: Regarding your concerns about penis size, it is important to understand that size can vary significantly among individuals and is influenced by various factors, including genetics and body composition. Being overweight can sometimes make the penis appear smaller due to the presence of excess fat in the pubic area. Losing weight may help improve the appearance of the penis, but it is essential to have realistic expectations. If you have concerns about your size affecting your sexual health or self-esteem, discussing this with a healthcare provider can provide you with more personalized advice.
4. Circumcision Considerations: The decision to undergo circumcision is a personal one and can depend on various factors, including medical necessity, personal preference, and cultural or religious beliefs. If you find that your foreskin is causing discomfort or hygiene issues, or if you have recurrent infections, circumcision may be beneficial. However, if you are able to maintain good hygiene and do not experience any problems, circumcision may not be necessary. It is best to discuss this with a urologist who can provide guidance based on your specific situation.
In summary, while some of the issues you are experiencing may be common and benign, others may require medical attention. It is always best to consult with a healthcare professional who can evaluate your symptoms in person and provide tailored advice. Regular check-ups and open communication about any concerns can help maintain your urological health and overall well-being.
