Frequent urination with low urine volume and dark yellow color?

Hello Doctor, I would like to ask you some questions regarding male urinary system issues.
About a month ago, one night, I suddenly started experiencing more frequent urges to urinate, and it has not improved since then.
I have never had a habit of holding my urine, nor have I been in situations where I needed to hold it, so I usually go to the bathroom whenever I feel the urge.
Generally, the intervals between my urination have not affected my daily life, and I never really paid attention to how often I went to the bathroom.
Therefore, the onset of this frequent urination has been quite unusual for me.
Currently, after urinating, I feel a slight urge to urinate again about an hour later, which persists, but it is not an overwhelming urge that makes me uncomfortable.
I can hold it for 2 to 3 hours, or even up to 4 hours.
In the past, once I felt the urge to urinate, it was difficult for me to hold it for long, so I have never liked holding my urine, which has been quite distressing.
I have experienced symptoms like rapid heartbeat, shaking, and cold sweats in the past.
Additionally, after searching online, I started keeping a urination diary and realized that my urine output is actually quite low.
I had noticed this before, but only after measuring did I realize how little it actually is.
During this period, I followed the clinic doctor's advice to hold my urine for two hours before going, and my urine output was around 100 ml, with a maximum of 200 ml once.
If I am working during the day, it is even less; excluding the first urination after waking up, I often only urinate about 100 ml by noon.
Overall, I have consumed about 1 liter of water.
I noticed that when I sweat, my urine output is very low, but I still feel the urge to urinate.
At the same time, my urine has been very yellow.
Previously, when I urinated directly into the toilet, the color diluted significantly in the water, and I did not pay much attention to it.
However, after measuring my urine output, I realized that the urine in the cup is actually a very deep yellow, regardless of whether I held it or not.
Below is a photo: https://imgur.com/a/qoojc.
The clinic doctor said that my routine urinalysis showed no inflammation, but the yellow color indicates that I am not drinking enough water.
I have been trying to drink more, but sometimes my urine is still very concentrated and minimal.
I also noticed that when I feel the urge to urinate, my bladder does not feel particularly full unless I intentionally press on it.
The sensation of urgency is mainly concentrated in the penis, especially the tip.
However, I want to clarify that I do not experience pain while urinating, nor do I have any discharge.
Pressing on the penis does not cause pain; it is just an uncomfortable feeling when the urge arises, which I wonder if it is caused by long-term irritation of the urethra.
The doctor prescribed Detrusitol for me, but I do not actually have the kind of urgent urge associated with incontinence, and my bladder does not hurt, so it should not be severe enough to require medication to relax the bladder.
In fact, after taking it, I do not feel any difference.
Thank you, Doctor, for taking the time to read my questions, and I appreciate it once again.

Hello: Although the urine test results are normal, having a low urine output indicates a problem.
It is recommended that you visit a urologist for further examination and ongoing treatment.
Detrusitol can be used to treat overactive bladder, reducing the frequency of urination and increasing urine volume; however, it is a symptomatic treatment, and without medication, the condition may revert to its original state, depending on your personal preferences.
Regarding the darker urine color, it suggests insufficient hydration, which is not advisable.
Over time, this could lead to urinary tract issues such as stone formation and inflammation.
Wishing you good health.

More Info

Frequent urination accompanied by dark yellow urine can be concerning, and it's essential to understand the potential causes and solutions. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing a change in your urinary habits, which is not only unusual for you but also accompanied by a noticeable change in urine color and volume.

Possible Causes
1. Dehydration: One of the most common reasons for dark yellow urine is dehydration. When your body lacks sufficient water, the urine becomes more concentrated, leading to a darker color. Even if you feel you are drinking enough water, factors such as increased physical activity, heat, or sweating can lead to fluid loss that may not be compensated by your fluid intake.

2. Diet and Medications: Certain foods (like beets, berries, or asparagus) and medications (such as vitamins or supplements) can also affect urine color. If you have recently changed your diet or started any new medications, this could be a contributing factor.

3. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI): Although your urine tests did not indicate inflammation, UTIs can sometimes present with symptoms like frequent urination and changes in urine color without significant pain or discomfort.
4. Bladder Irritation: Conditions such as interstitial cystitis or bladder irritation can cause frequent urges to urinate without the typical symptoms of urgency or pain. The sensation of discomfort you feel may be related to this irritation.

5. Prostate Issues: In men, prostate enlargement or inflammation can lead to urinary symptoms, including increased frequency and urgency. While you mentioned not feeling pain during urination, it's still worth considering this possibility.

Solutions and Recommendations
1. Hydration: Ensure you are drinking enough fluids throughout the day. Aim for at least 2-3 liters of water daily, adjusting based on your activity level and environmental conditions. Monitor your urine color; it should ideally be pale yellow.

2. Dietary Adjustments: Consider keeping a food diary to identify any dietary changes that might correlate with your symptoms. Reducing intake of irritants like caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods may help alleviate some urinary symptoms.

3. Bladder Training: If you are experiencing frequent urges, bladder training techniques can be beneficial. This involves gradually increasing the time between urinations to help your bladder hold more urine.

4. Follow-Up with a Specialist: Since your symptoms are persistent and unusual for you, it may be beneficial to consult a urologist. They can perform a more thorough evaluation, including imaging studies or urodynamic testing, to assess bladder function and rule out any underlying conditions.

5. Medication Review: If you are taking medications like Detrusitol, discuss with your doctor whether this is appropriate for your symptoms. If you do not have urgency or significant discomfort, other treatment options may be more suitable.

6. Monitor Symptoms: Keep a detailed diary of your urinary habits, including frequency, volume, and any associated symptoms. This information can be invaluable for your healthcare provider in diagnosing the issue.

Conclusion
Frequent urination and dark yellow urine can stem from various causes, ranging from simple dehydration to more complex urinary tract issues. It's crucial to stay hydrated, monitor your symptoms, and consult with a healthcare professional for a comprehensive evaluation. Your health is paramount, and addressing these symptoms early can help prevent potential complications.
