Issues Related to Sexual Activity After Circumcision
Hello, doctor.
About a month ago, I had a circumcision, and I have mostly recovered.
However, I am experiencing a few issues during intercourse.
After the circumcision, the skin and the underlying tissue, which used to be able to move up and down, are now stitched together.
This lack of movement has made it more difficult to achieve arousal.
During intercourse, after about half an hour, I have no sensation of needing to ejaculate, and I gradually become less erect.
What should I do? I also find that during masturbation, the lack of movement has made me less sensitive.

Try reducing the frequency of sexual activity or masturbation; this may help with sensitivity.
It might take some time to adjust.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
Post-circumcision sexual issues can be a common concern for many men who have undergone the procedure. It’s important to understand that the body goes through various adjustments after circumcision, and it may take some time for you to fully adapt to these changes. Here’s a comprehensive overview of what to expect and potential solutions to the issues you’re experiencing.
Understanding the Changes
1. Loss of Skin Mobility: After circumcision, the skin that used to cover the glans (the head of the penis) is removed, which can lead to a feeling of reduced mobility during sexual activity. This change can affect the way stimulation is perceived, as the glans is now more exposed and may require different types of stimulation to achieve arousal.
2. Sensitivity Changes: Initially, many men report heightened sensitivity in the glans after circumcision due to its exposure. However, over time, some may experience a decrease in sensitivity as the skin becomes accustomed to the new environment. This can lead to difficulties in achieving orgasm or maintaining an erection during sexual activity.
3. Psychological Factors: The psychological aspect of sexual performance can also play a significant role. Anxiety about the changes in your body and how it affects your sexual performance can lead to decreased arousal and difficulty in reaching orgasm.
Solutions and Recommendations
1. Patience and Time: It’s essential to give your body time to adjust after circumcision. Many men find that their sensitivity and sexual function improve over several weeks or months as they become accustomed to the changes.
2. Experiment with Different Techniques: Since the traditional movement of skin is no longer available, you might want to explore different techniques during masturbation and sexual activity. Try varying the pressure, speed, and types of stimulation to find what feels best for you. Using lubrication can also enhance sensation and make the experience more pleasurable.
3. Focus on Foreplay: Engaging in extended foreplay can help increase arousal and excitement before penetration. This can include kissing, touching, and oral sex, which may help you feel more aroused and ready for intercourse.
4. Communication with Your Partner: If you are in a sexual relationship, communicate openly with your partner about your experiences and feelings. Discussing what feels good and what doesn’t can help both of you adjust to the changes and find new ways to enjoy intimacy together.
5. Consult a Healthcare Professional: If you continue to experience significant difficulties with arousal or orgasm, it may be beneficial to consult a urologist or a sexual health specialist. They can provide personalized advice and may suggest treatments such as topical medications to enhance sensitivity or other therapeutic options.
6. Consider Psychological Support: If anxiety or psychological factors are contributing to your difficulties, speaking with a therapist who specializes in sexual health can be beneficial. They can help you work through any concerns and develop strategies to improve your sexual experience.
7. Explore Sexual Aids: There are various sexual aids and devices designed to enhance stimulation and pleasure. These can be explored as a way to increase sensitivity and enjoyment during masturbation and sexual activity.
Conclusion
In summary, post-circumcision sexual issues can be challenging, but they are often temporary. With time, patience, and open communication, many men find that their sexual experiences improve. If problems persist, seeking professional advice can provide additional support and solutions tailored to your specific situation. Remember, every individual’s experience is unique, and finding what works best for you may take some experimentation and exploration.
