Is it possible to be pregnant?

Last month, I engaged in some intimate activities with my boyfriend, including manual stimulation, and he ejaculated.
However, I'm not sure if he touched me afterward.
I had my period last month, and I also got my period this month, although it arrived seven days earlier than last month.
I've noticed that my abdomen, particularly below the navel, is protruding, but I also have constipation.
Additionally, I have stretch marks on my thighs, waist, and hips.
The last time I saw a dermatologist, they mentioned it was due to being overweight, but the marks are increasing, which makes me anxious.
I took two pregnancy tests, and both clearly indicated that I am not pregnant.
However, I am still very worried.
Is there a possibility that I could be pregnant? (If I were pregnant, I would be in my eighth week now, and I have not experienced any symptoms of morning sickness.)

Hello, based on your description, the chances of pregnancy are not high.
However, pregnancy cannot be determined solely by subjective symptoms.
I recommend that if your period is more than a week late or if you are uncertain, you should consult a physician to check for pregnancy.
Thank you! Wishing you peace and health, Dr.
Chang.

When it comes to the possibility of pregnancy, understanding your symptoms and the results of pregnancy tests is crucial. Based on your description, there are several factors to consider.

Firstly, you mentioned that you engaged in sexual activity with your boyfriend, including manual stimulation and ejaculation. However, you also noted that your menstrual period came as expected for both last month and this month, albeit a week earlier this month. This is an important point because a regular menstrual cycle is often a strong indicator that you are not pregnant. Menstrual bleeding typically signifies that the uterine lining is shedding, which occurs when there is no fertilized egg to maintain the pregnancy.

Regarding your abdominal symptoms, you mentioned that your lower abdomen appears particularly protruded, which could be attributed to various factors, including bloating, constipation, or weight gain. The fact that you are experiencing constipation could certainly contribute to a feeling of fullness or distension in the abdominal area. Additionally, the appearance of stretch marks (often referred to as "striae") on your thighs, waist, and hips can occur due to rapid changes in body weight or hormonal fluctuations, not solely due to pregnancy.

You also indicated that you have taken two pregnancy tests, both of which showed negative results. Home pregnancy tests are generally quite reliable, especially when used correctly and after a missed period. Most tests are designed to detect the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. If you are indeed eight weeks pregnant, the hormone levels should be high enough to be detected by a home test. The absence of a positive result, combined with the occurrence of your menstrual periods, strongly suggests that you are not pregnant.

It's also worth noting that some women experience symptoms that can mimic pregnancy, such as breast tenderness, fatigue, and abdominal discomfort, even when they are not pregnant. These symptoms can be influenced by hormonal changes related to your menstrual cycle, stress, or other health conditions.

If you are still feeling anxious about the possibility of pregnancy despite negative test results, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a more sensitive blood test to measure hCG levels or conduct a physical examination to address your concerns. Additionally, if you are experiencing significant abdominal discomfort or any other concerning symptoms, it is essential to seek medical advice to rule out any underlying conditions.

In conclusion, based on the information you provided, it seems unlikely that you are pregnant, especially given the regularity of your menstrual cycles and the negative pregnancy tests. However, if you continue to have concerns or experience unusual symptoms, please do not hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for further evaluation and peace of mind.
