Are you pregnant?

I would like to ask about my menstrual cycle.
My period was from February 19 to February 23.
On March 1, my boyfriend rubbed against me through his underwear, and he said he did not ejaculate, but he did go a little deeper.
Then, from March 3 to March 6, I noticed some blood discharge.
From March 28 to March 31, there was also blood-stained discharge.
On April 1, the bleeding increased slightly, and my period was from April 1 to April 5.
Compared to previous cycles, this time the flow was lighter, and I didn't need to change sanitary pads frequently; there was more blood only when I wiped after using the restroom.
I experienced abdominal pain and discomfort, making it hard to distinguish between menstrual cramps and stomach pain.
In previous cycles, I had blood clots, but this time there were none, which makes me worried about the possibility of pregnancy.
I would like to know:
1.
Is it possible that I am pregnant? I read online that some people can still be pregnant even if they have their period.

2.
I took progesterone when I visited the gynecologist in February; could this have caused my period to come early or resulted in a lighter flow?
3.
I have noticed some prominent bumps on my nipples and areolas; does this indicate pregnancy?
4.
Is it necessary to use the first morning urine for a pregnancy test at this time?
I would appreciate the doctor's help in answering these questions.
Thank you.

When considering the possibility of pregnancy, especially with irregular menstrual cycles, it’s essential to analyze the symptoms and timing of events carefully. Based on your description, let’s break down your concerns and provide some clarity.

1. Could You Be Pregnant?: The possibility of pregnancy cannot be ruled out entirely, even if you have had a menstrual period. It is indeed possible to experience bleeding during pregnancy, known as implantation bleeding, which can occur when a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. However, the bleeding you described from March 3 to March 6 could also be a normal menstrual period, especially since you mentioned it was lighter than usual and lacked blood clots. If you are experiencing symptoms that are unusual for you, such as abdominal pain and changes in your menstrual flow, it is advisable to take a pregnancy test for confirmation.

2. Impact of Progesterone (黄体素): Taking progesterone can affect your menstrual cycle. It is known to help regulate the menstrual cycle and can sometimes lead to lighter periods or changes in menstrual flow. If you took progesterone in February, it could potentially explain the changes you are experiencing in your cycle, including the timing and amount of bleeding. Hormonal treatments can influence the regularity and characteristics of menstrual bleeding, so it’s important to discuss this with your healthcare provider.

3. Changes in Breast Sensitivity: The presence of noticeable bumps or changes in the areola (乳暈) can be a sign of hormonal changes, which may occur during pregnancy or as a result of your menstrual cycle. However, these changes alone are not definitive indicators of pregnancy. If you are concerned about these changes, it would be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider for a thorough examination.

4. Timing of Pregnancy Tests: For the most accurate results, it is generally recommended to use the first morning urine for pregnancy tests. This is because it contains the highest concentration of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced during pregnancy. If you suspect you might be pregnant, waiting until after your expected period to take a test can also improve accuracy. If you have irregular cycles, consider testing about two weeks after the potential conception date for the best results.

In summary, while your symptoms and changes in your menstrual cycle could suggest a range of possibilities, including pregnancy, they could also be attributed to hormonal influences from medications or other factors. It is crucial to take a pregnancy test to confirm your status and consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and further evaluation. They can provide guidance based on your medical history and current symptoms, ensuring you receive the appropriate care and support.
