Bleeding after receiving the cervical cancer vaccine?
I would like to ask the doctor about my condition.
I have adenomyosis and infiltrative endometriosis, and I am currently taking Dienogest, having completed five packs.
I started receiving the nine-valent HPV vaccine in November last year, but after the second dose in January, I experienced bleeding that lasted almost two weeks.
Today, after receiving the third dose at noon, I had slight bleeding again in the evening, even though my period just ended last week.
I have not experienced any intermenstrual bleeding while on the fifth pack, but now I am bleeding again after the vaccine.
Could this be related to the Dienogest medication, or is this abnormal bleeding?
Additionally, I had a Pap smear at the end of December last year that showed inflammation.
The doctor prescribed a three-day vaginal suppository, but since then, my discharge has been slightly yellow and somewhat thick, though it is not itchy or foul-smelling, just mildly acidic.
Is this still indicative of ongoing inflammation, or is it normal?

Post-vaccine bleeding can be a concerning issue, especially for individuals with pre-existing conditions such as adenomyosis and endometriosis. The HPV vaccine, particularly the nine-valent version, is designed to protect against various strains of the human papillomavirus that can lead to cervical cancer. While the vaccine is generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects, including bleeding, particularly after receiving the vaccine.
In your case, you mentioned experiencing bleeding after receiving the second and third doses of the HPV vaccine. It is important to note that while the vaccine can cause some side effects, bleeding is not commonly reported as a direct side effect of the vaccine itself. However, it is crucial to consider the potential interactions with your current medication, Norina (likely a form of hormonal therapy), which can also influence menstrual cycles and bleeding patterns.
Norina, which is often used to manage conditions like endometriosis, can cause irregular bleeding as a side effect. The combination of your underlying conditions and the medication you are taking may contribute to the bleeding you are experiencing. It is essential to differentiate between vaccine-related bleeding and bleeding that may be a result of hormonal fluctuations due to your medication.
If the bleeding is persistent or accompanied by other concerning symptoms, it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider. They can perform a thorough evaluation to determine the cause of the bleeding and whether it is related to the vaccine, your medication, or your underlying conditions.
Regarding your concerns about the yellowish discharge you mentioned, it is not uncommon for women to experience changes in vaginal discharge due to hormonal fluctuations or infections. The fact that your discharge is yellow, slightly thick, and has a mild odor could indicate a possible infection or an inflammatory process. While the absence of itching or a strong odor may suggest that it is not a typical infection, it is still important to have this evaluated by a healthcare professional. They may recommend further testing or treatment based on your symptoms and medical history.
In summary, while post-vaccine bleeding can occur, it is essential to consider the broader context of your health, including your current medications and underlying conditions. Regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider are crucial to ensure that any changes in your health are appropriately monitored and managed. If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your healthcare team for personalized advice and support.
