The issue of balanitis?
Hello Doctor, I was diagnosed with balanitis during a recent visit.
After more than a month of taking and applying medication (Yifuqing), I still feel no significant improvement; there are times when it itches, and sometimes after masturbation, the glans appears very red.
However, when I visited another hospital today, the doctor examined me and stated that he couldn't find any issues.
I would like to know how to determine if I have fully recovered.
Additionally, I have been experiencing symptoms of premature ejaculation since developing this condition.
Compared to before, my sensitivity has increased, and I find it difficult to control ejaculation.
I am unsure if this is related to the condition.
If it is not, how should I go about getting checked? The doctor I consulted mentioned that there might be a connection.
I apologize for the many questions, and thank you, Doctor.

First, treat the balanitis, and then have the physician evaluate the situation.
Additionally, maintain proper hygiene and a regular lifestyle.
It should not be related to premature ejaculation.

More Info
Balanitis, or inflammation of the glans penis, can be a frustrating condition, especially when symptoms persist despite treatment. It is essential to understand the symptoms, treatment options, and potential concerns regarding sensitivity and sexual function.
Symptoms of Balanitis
The symptoms of balanitis can vary but typically include:
1. Redness and Inflammation: The glans may appear red and swollen.
2. Itching and Discomfort: Many patients report itching, burning, or discomfort, particularly during sexual activity or after masturbation.
3. Discharge: There may be a discharge from under the foreskin, which can sometimes be foul-smelling.
4. Pain During Erection: Some individuals may experience pain or discomfort during erections.
In your case, the persistent itching and redness after masturbation suggest that the inflammation may not have fully resolved. The fact that a second doctor could not identify any issues does not necessarily mean that the condition is gone; it may indicate that the inflammation is mild or that other factors are contributing to your symptoms.
Treatment Options
Treatment for balanitis typically involves:
1. Topical Medications: Creams or ointments, such as antifungal or corticosteroid creams, can help reduce inflammation and treat any underlying infections.
2. Good Hygiene: Maintaining proper hygiene is crucial. Gently cleaning the area with mild soap and water can help prevent irritation.
3. Avoiding Irritants: Avoiding harsh soaps, lotions, or other products that may irritate the area is essential.
4. Dietary Changes: In some cases, dietary changes may be necessary if a food allergy or sensitivity is contributing to the condition.
If symptoms persist despite treatment, it may be beneficial to consult a urologist or dermatologist specializing in genital conditions for further evaluation.
Concerns About Sensitivity and Early Ejaculation
Regarding your concerns about increased sensitivity and early ejaculation, it is possible that the inflammation and irritation from balanitis could contribute to changes in sensitivity. Inflammation can heighten nerve sensitivity, leading to a lower threshold for ejaculation. However, early ejaculation can also be influenced by psychological factors, anxiety, or other physical conditions.
To assess whether your early ejaculation is related to balanitis, consider the following:
1. Timing of Symptoms: If the early ejaculation began around the same time as the balanitis symptoms, there may be a connection.
2. Response to Treatment: If treating the balanitis improves your symptoms, it may indicate a link between the two.
3. Consultation with a Specialist: A urologist can provide a thorough evaluation and may suggest treatments specifically for early ejaculation, such as behavioral techniques, topical anesthetics, or medications.
Conclusion
In summary, while balanitis can cause discomfort and sensitivity issues, it is essential to monitor your symptoms closely and maintain open communication with your healthcare provider. If symptoms persist or worsen, further evaluation may be necessary to rule out other conditions. Additionally, addressing any concerns about sexual function with a specialist can help you regain confidence and improve your overall well-being. Remember, it’s crucial to prioritize your health and seek help when needed.
