Can I get pregnant?

I had sexual intercourse with my girlfriend on March 6, March 14, and March 20, always using a condom.
After ejaculation outside, we checked the condom for any breaks and immediately took a shower.
After our encounter on March 6, she took emergency contraception that night.
She experienced bleeding for three days, which ended.
My girlfriend has irregular periods; her last menstrual cycle started on February 21, and her period is now a few days late this month.
She doesn't have many symptoms, just feeling sleepy and tired, which I believe is due to staying up late and poor diet, along with having classes in the morning and work at night.
Is there a chance she could be pregnant?

When it comes to the question of whether you could be pregnant after engaging in sexual intercourse, especially with the precautions you've taken, it's essential to consider several factors. Based on your description, you and your girlfriend used condoms consistently, which significantly reduces the risk of pregnancy when used correctly. Additionally, you mentioned that you checked the condom for any breaks and that your girlfriend took emergency contraception shortly after intercourse. These actions further decrease the likelihood of pregnancy.

However, it’s important to note that no contraceptive method is 100% effective, and there is always a small risk of pregnancy, even with perfect use of condoms and emergency contraception. The fact that your girlfriend has irregular menstrual cycles can complicate the situation. Irregular periods can make it challenging to predict ovulation and the timing of her next period, which can lead to confusion about whether she might be pregnant.

You mentioned that her last menstrual period started on February 21, and now her period is late. Since her cycles are irregular, it can be difficult to determine if a late period is due to pregnancy or other factors such as stress, changes in routine, or health issues. The symptoms you described, such as feeling tired and wanting to sleep more, could be attributed to various causes, including lifestyle factors like lack of sleep, stress from school and work, or even premenstrual symptoms.

If your girlfriend's period is significantly late, it would be advisable for her to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are generally accurate if taken after a missed period. If the test is positive, or if she continues to experience unusual symptoms, it would be wise for her to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance.

In addition to the potential for pregnancy, it’s essential to consider other factors that could affect her menstrual cycle. Stress, significant changes in weight, illness, or hormonal imbalances can all lead to irregular periods. If she has a history of irregular cycles, this could simply be a continuation of that pattern rather than an indication of pregnancy.

In summary, while the precautions you've taken significantly reduce the risk of pregnancy, the possibility is not entirely eliminated, especially given the irregularity of your girlfriend's menstrual cycle. A home pregnancy test would be a practical next step to clarify the situation. If there are any concerns or if the test is positive, seeking medical advice is crucial for both of you to understand the next steps and ensure her health and well-being.
