Can I get pregnant?

Hello, doctor.
I would like to ask, I usually have sexual intercourse with my boyfriend using condoms throughout.
My period just ended a week or two ago, but in the past three days, I suddenly felt nauseous, although it didn't last long.
I've been experiencing mood swings, bloating, constipation, and a lack of appetite.
My abdomen has slightly enlarged, but I'm unsure if it's just weight gain or if it's due to pregnancy.
There hasn't been much vaginal discharge.
What is the likelihood that I am pregnant? Should I go to the hospital for a pregnancy test? Also, if I performed oral sex on my boyfriend and then touched his penis before putting on the condom, could that lead to pregnancy?

Aaa, 20~29 year old female. Ask Date: 2022/02/19

When it comes to the question of whether you could be pregnant, especially after having unprotected intercourse, it's important to consider a few key factors. Based on your description, you have been using condoms consistently, which is a reliable method of contraception when used correctly. However, no contraceptive method is 100% effective, and there is always a small risk of pregnancy if there is any failure in the method, such as a condom breaking or slipping off.

The symptoms you are experiencing—nausea, emotional instability, abdominal bloating, constipation, lack of appetite, and slight abdominal enlargement—can be associated with early pregnancy, but they can also be attributed to other factors such as hormonal changes, stress, or digestive issues. It is not uncommon for women to experience symptoms that mimic those of pregnancy even when they are not pregnant.
1. Nausea and Vomiting: These are common symptoms in early pregnancy, often referred to as morning sickness. However, they can also be caused by anxiety, dietary changes, or gastrointestinal issues.

2. Emotional Instability: Hormonal fluctuations during your menstrual cycle can lead to mood swings, which might explain your emotional state.

3. Abdominal Bloating and Constipation: These symptoms can occur due to hormonal changes, dietary factors, or stress. They are not definitive indicators of pregnancy.

4. Slight Abdominal Enlargement: This could be due to bloating or weight gain rather than pregnancy.
Regarding your concern about the possibility of pregnancy from oral sex followed by touching the condom, the risk is extremely low. Sperm must enter the vagina and reach the uterus to result in pregnancy. If you did not have direct vaginal contact with sperm, the likelihood of pregnancy is minimal.

Given your symptoms and concerns, it would be a good idea to take a home pregnancy test for reassurance. These tests are generally accurate if taken after a missed period. If you are still uncertain or if the test is positive, you should consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance.

In summary, while your symptoms could suggest pregnancy, they are not definitive. The use of condoms significantly reduces the risk of pregnancy, and the symptoms you describe could be due to a variety of other factors. If you remain concerned, taking a pregnancy test and consulting with a healthcare professional would be the best course of action. Remember, it's always better to seek medical advice if you have any doubts or concerns about your health.
