Decreased frequency of masturbation?

Hello Doctor, I would like to inquire about a recent decrease in my masturbation frequency (it has been 5 days).
I have noticed that both of my testicles have become larger and harder.
Is this normal? They feel so hard that they lack a soft sensation, and occasionally, both testicles experience some pain, which makes me a bit worried.
Additionally, I would like to ask about my left testicle; when the scrotum contracts, it is positioned higher than the right one, to the point where it is so high that I cannot feel it by touching the skin of the scrotum and have to reach inside to feel it.
Is this too high? (When the scrotum is relaxed, it hangs normally.) Furthermore, during a self-examination of my testicles, I noticed a lump on the front, back, and sides of both testicles.
Could this be the epididymis? Thank you, Doctor.

Hello: I would like to inquire about a recent decrease in my masturbation frequency (it's been 5 days).
I've noticed that both of my testicles have become larger and harder.
Is this normal? They feel so firm that they lack a soft sensation, and occasionally, both testicles experience some pain, which makes me a bit worried.
--> If there is no redness of the skin and the testicles are not painful, it is likely normal.
Additionally, I would like to ask about my left testicle; when the scrotum contracts, it is higher than the right one, to the point where it cannot be felt by touching the skin of the scrotum and can only be felt by reaching further inside.
Is this too high? (When the scrotum is relaxed, it hangs normally.) --> No, this is common for some individuals.
If you have concerns, you may want to seek a medical examination.
Furthermore, during self-examination of my testicles, I noticed a lump on the front, back, and sides of both testicles.
Could this be the epididymis? --> It is difficult to determine, but it is likely.
Wishing you good health.

When it comes to understanding changes in testicular size and sensation, it's important to recognize that the testicles can exhibit a variety of normal variations based on several factors, including hormonal changes, temperature, and physical activity.
Firstly, regarding your observation of increased size and hardness of the testicles after a period of reduced sexual activity, this can be attributed to several factors. The testicles are responsible for producing sperm and testosterone, and fluctuations in these processes can lead to temporary changes in size and firmness. It is not uncommon for testicles to feel firmer or larger during periods of sexual arousal or after abstaining from ejaculation for a while. This is often due to increased blood flow and the accumulation of sperm. However, if the hardness is accompanied by pain or discomfort, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying issues such as epididymitis or testicular torsion.

As for the sensation of pain in the testicles, it is essential to pay attention to the nature of the pain. Occasional discomfort can be normal, especially if it is mild and transient. However, persistent or severe pain should not be ignored, as it could indicate a more serious condition that requires medical evaluation.
Regarding the position of your left testicle being higher than the right during contraction, this is generally normal. The testicles are not always symmetrical, and it is common for one to sit higher than the other. The cremaster muscle, which controls the position of the testicles, can cause this variation based on temperature and arousal. If the left testicle is retracting significantly and causing concern, it may be worth discussing with a healthcare provider to ensure there are no underlying issues.

When performing a self-examination of the testicles, it is normal to feel the epididymis, which is a coiled tube located at the back of each testicle. This structure can sometimes feel like a lump or a cord-like structure and is typically not a cause for concern. However, if you notice any new lumps, changes in size, or if the texture of the testicles changes significantly, it is crucial to seek medical advice.
In summary, while some changes in testicular size and sensation can be normal, especially in relation to sexual activity and hormonal fluctuations, any persistent pain, significant changes in position, or new lumps should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Regular self-examinations are important for monitoring your testicular health, and being aware of what is normal for your body can help you identify any concerning changes early on. If you have any doubts or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to a urologist or your primary care physician for further evaluation and peace of mind.
